NYC wedding for less than $10,000

I just posted the pics and final pricing of my Feb wedding in NYC. The total cost came under budget at around $8,000. I listed all my vendors, purchases and prices underneath photos so that if you are as cash strapped as I was you can find it all easy enough. Having a wedding is so stressful, I found transparency to be the greatest help in all matters so I hope someone else finds this helpful.

It can be done and it can look great.

Wow, you are truly an inspiration! Your wedding looks FABULOUS and for $10,000 in NYC? I can barely wrap my brain around that! Congrats on a wonderful job!

    Congratulations! That's a real accomplishment.

After reading through your blog post, I wondered if you'd consider writing another about how you scored some of those really budget-saving items? I'd bet a lot of brides in the midst of planning would love to know how you found a venue to feed and inebriate 80 people for $5000! For New Yorkers, that's probably the wedding equivalent of snagging a rent-stabilized apartment.

I couldn't find it on your blog - maybe I wasn't looking hard enough - but how did you get your photographer to do it for free?

All I have to say is that: as a NY'er and a graduate student on an itty bitty budget for a wedding (14K), after reading your blog, and the savings and originality you worked with - I'd beg you to be my planner! Congrats on the stupendous savings!

I was wondering if you'd be willing to post on much you paid for your flowers as well as your photographer.  The breakdowns for these are not listed in your flinal tally.

    Thanks!  Congratulations on your savings!
