I must share this wonderful gem. Freaking delicious. Apple Pie Wine: 1/2 gallon Apple Cider ( pasteurized) 1 gallon Apple Juice 1 1/2 - 2 cups sugar ( to your taste) 8 cinnamon sticks bring to boil and then bring down to a simmer for 1 -2 hours (until it smells good) Let it cool then add : 1 26 oz white rum 1 26 oz 50% vodka( dark blue label - smirnoff ) put in bottles and add one cinnamon stick to each bottle - keep refridgerated Warning: Can cause headaches and make you look like my sig pic. But holy hell is it delicious. I can't believe I haven't shared it sooner.

That sounds delicious, but I'm lazy.  You know what I found worked.  Microwave apple cider.  Add a shot (or two) of brandy.  Drink.  It's way good and the brandy is hardly noticeable.

It's kinda scary almost - with that much booze, you can't taste it. Honest. It just tastes like apple juice with pie spices.

I have one too! We used it for the wedding. It went over like crazy (I'm so pleased) :)2 qts of apple cider2 cinnamon sticks2 clovesapple brandyHeat everything except the brandy until warm. Add a shot of brandy to each mug and ladle cider into the mug. Garnish with orange slices, whipped cream, or freshly grated nutmeg.YUM-O.

Sorry to thread-jack, P2, but... Vogt, did you make the cider yourself for the wedding?  How much did you make?

Sorry P2, I didn't mean to threadjack either :)Tida, our bartenders made it. It was our siggy drink and we didn't have any other hard alcohol. That recipe makes something like 11 servings (in 8oz glasses, so probably 6oz servings). I have no idea how much was made. They served it in coffee caraffes (sp?) to keep it warm.

P2, where can you find the 50% vodka? I've never heard of that before, but I generally get my liquor from Walmart or Target

at the liquor store - i'm not sure what brands are american, but here Schmirnoff blue label is the 50% stuff. I'm sure if you went to a liquor store they could help you.
