should I be worried?

so, I've written every single one of our thank you cards so far - right now I'm letting FI do one.  I am scared.  He keeps putting the pen down, and doing the "Mr. Burns" thing with his hands....seriously, I'm worried.

Re: should I be worried?

  • He'd be doing 50% if it were me. He can do his family, and you don't have to worry about his handwriting. It's good enough.
  • I love him but his handwriting is a cross between a monkey and a five year old :(  He said he felt like he should be doing something so I gave him one. That was 20mins ago - he's still working on it :(
  • Aww.. haha! Sounds like he's putting in a good, hard effort. That's really cute. Just let him work and then come back and tell us what he does. :)

  • He finished it and asked me if I wanted to proofread it - I decided I would trust him and just told him to seal it.  He tends to overthink things and I tend to procrastinate & worry  too much.  It's a miracle we get anything done :P
  • Totally agree with Georgia Bride. There is no way I would have done all the TYs by myself. I wrote more of the actual card notes than DH did, but he sat right there and addressed the envelopes, stamped the envelopes, and stuff ed the envelopes. And he wrote probably 35% of the notes.
  • Really? I fully intend to do all ours. But then, I love writing thank yous. I guess I kinda see it as part of my (willing)job load as wife, like remembering birthdays and organizing the pantry.

  • I'm worried about the prospect of FI and any wedding-related paper. His handwriting looks like what a serial killer would scratch on the wall of his jail cell. I'm all for thinking that men should pull their weight on wedding stuff, but I also don't want our guests to worry that someone is sending them death threats.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • Brooke - speaking of that, I asked FI on Friday if he had sent his parents anything for their birthdays. Like a card. FMIL's birthday was on Sunday. He totally forgot to send anything. So he called her. And it was a milestone birthday (60) so she wasn't happy about it. Glad I was out of town for the day.As FI's family tends to be picky about gifts, he still gets to shop for them. I get to shop for my non-picky family and send them cards for birthdays and holidays, and we all stay happy.
