2 questions for NYC/LI ladies

Question #1 - So have you heard what the weather is going to be like this weekend?  The weather channel is not very accurate down here, so I'm a little leary of them.  DH is not being helpful.  Plus we disagree on what is considered cold or not.Question #2 - what does one wear to an old school mafoiso type Italian restaurant?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Re: 2 questions for NYC/LI ladies

  • 1. I just looked at weather.com and it looks like it'll be chilly but nothing a light jacket can't handle. Bring stuff for rain too. 2. I would think "dressy casual".

  • I'm in southern CT and it's supposed to be mid-60s and rainy on Saturday, and sunny and about 60 on Sunday. NYC/LI area is pretty similar weather-wise for this weekend. Can't help you with #2 - I've never been to a restaurant like that.

  • thanks OOT.  The restaurant is in Howard Beach. They are picking me up at JFK and going right there.

  • You can wear ANYTHING.  If it is really old school Italian, you'll probably see some people dressed up, and some in track suits.  Or at least that's what I've noticed by my husband's hometown on LI.
