Re: Whose wedding is it anyway...Surprise the Bride

  • Oh yeah and the wedding is the night after he does the surprise proposal!
  • suprise proposal fine.Wedding  - hell know.My DH can't keep a secret anyway, so I know this would have never happen to me.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • This might work for some people. Not me.  Oh Lord, no.

  • FI would not be able to pick the dress.
  • I would not like that at all.  Unless I was getting married to Jung Lee's (Wedded to Perfection) son or some other kick-asss wedding planner's son, I would have to pass.  How is she going to pick out her dress, etc. etc.?  I don't get this.
  • Oh no SHE doesn't get to pick anything....he and her family picked EVERYTHING! hell no...
  • but of course she loves the dress they picked... They are working with the wedding planner, the regular chick from NY.
  • I told Fi when I saw this, if he had done it to me I would have said no.

  • Well, to be fair, they didn't pick out her dress. She had been sending him pictures and leaving "hints" all over the place. She had actually picked out that dress and sent it to him. That's how he knew which one to get. Thankfully she actually liked how it looked on her. They faked that she was going to be on a new reality show for brides called Bride Wars of something like that. So she was very distracted by that, because she was actually doing challenges and stuff with other "brides" to win things for this "show". The guy really did go all out. And the girl loved it.But I would have been PO'd if my FI did that to me. I actually enjoy planning! But the thought of getting married the day after the proposal is intriguing.
  • I saw this today... She did already have everything picked out and he had pics, but still... I would have flipped out.
  • I feel like the planning process is a girl's right... I wanted that full year of being engaged - You only get to do it once!
  • I wouldn't have liked that either.  Even if he hit the mark on what she picked out, there's an experience with your girlfriends/mom/whomever that you are going to miss out on.  Showers/bach partiy - nope - wouldn't like that at all.
  • I saw this. I would have HATED it, because I had fun during the engagement. She didn't have time to answer annoying questions like "when's the big day?" or "are you excited?". It was just BAM, tomorrow, you will be married.
  • I almost WISH this had happened to me! My FIL's are making my life HELL right now. We've been officially engaged for a matter of 4 days and they have been calling us and bitching us out for wanting an adults only wedding. At least this way nothing would be my FAULT!!!
