Re: Good Morning!

  • I'm here. Bit of late night knotting before bed
  • Moi. Bonjour.
  • Hi Bubble! What time is it there? Kate - why are you up so early? Also, Happy Wedding Day Scoetto!
  • Its almost midnight, past my bedtime but we got 2 seasons of NCIS on DVD yesterday and I can't stop watching
  • I'm working.  Joy of joys.  But, I did just find out I'm getting a big raise a whole year earlier than I technically should, so it's worth it.  And you my dear?
  • Bubble - my mom loves NCIS. She watches Ben in the afternoon and will watch it while he watches cartoons in her bedroom. He calls NCIS (and other similar shows) "Gram's blood shows". Kate - I'm always up this early. I wake up at 5:45 during the week, so it's hard for me to sleep past 6:30 on the weekends. It really sucks. But it's pretty much the only alone time that I'll get all day, so it's a fair trade off. What kind of work do you do?
  • I'm up.  My family is swine flu central and I can't sleep.  Achy back, headache - I'm seriously loving this stuff.
  • FI is obsessed with Gibbs, I have to tell him that he is a made up character on TV. He is a special case, my FI. I like the mystery part. I try and solve it before the characters do, coz its more fun if you win!
  • Noooo kmm! Do you have swine flu? I'm sorry. That really sucks.
  • I work for the Army's Intelligence and Security Command.  It's pretty cool, I've been in the DC area for a little over 2 years now.
  • bubble - do you watch Criminal Minds? That's my favorite Blood Show. I'm watching this week's episode right now.
  • kate - that does sound cool. Where are you originally from?
  • I used to watch it with my mum but its on at odd hours over here so I catch it sometimes. kmm - Sorry to hear that you aren't well
  • Duddley! Hey doll. How ya doing this morning? I know yesterday was tough. You were in my heart last night. Lova ya girl!
  • Hey duds!  How ya doing today? Haha, re: blood shows...FI never remembers the name of my shows, so I call them my "mystery show" and my "lying show".  IRL it's Lie to Me and Fringe on Fox. :) I'm originally from Okemos, MI -- right next to Michigan State University.  I went to college in Iowa, spent a semester in France, spent a semester and a summer in DC, and moved back out here after I graduated.  Did I mention I get to see Salt and Tide today?!
  • No! That's awesome Kate. What are you all doing?
  • Hey guys. I'm ok. Definitely not in the mood to be working right now. I lost it when I get here today. I love ya too cew. =)
  • Well, hang in there Duds.
  • Tide has a big to-do at the wildlife place where she volunteers, so we're going to crash the party :)
  • cew - yes, I sure do.  Not a big deal though.  Here is my family score so far after taking the everyone to an orchard last weekend for a fun day: DD #1 - ALL 4 of their children got it.  One of the kids is from SIL's previous marriage and she lives with her bio mom.  She was in the ER a couple of days ago, but is home and resting ok. DD # 2 - she has it and called me last night at 10pm - she was going to the ER.  I couldn't go with her (obviously) so she called her stepmom.  Her 2 kids have been symptom free and are to get the shots today but with everyone else already having it, I think it is too late since it takes 10 days for the shot to take effect. The orchard was packed and we were there for a few hours.  DD #2 looked around and said, "this place is just one big Swine flu germ bowl."  She must have been right.DS - him too.DS's BFF - went to the orchard with us, he has it too.And then there is me.We all have a bit different symptoms and a couple of them are far worse than the rest of us.  DS and I seem to have a pretty mild case so I'm grateful for that. You just treat it like any other flu and there is a 99% chance that's all you need to do.  We aren't freaking out, but this can end ANY time now!As of yesterday there are 194 schools closed here in Michigan.
  • kmmssg -- have I seen you on the Lansing board?!My mom was telling me yesterday about all the school closings, it's crazy!
  • Hey kate - I'm in Okemos pretty frequently!  I work in Lansing, and if I need a decent mall (duh) it has to be Meridian.  Lansing Mall is terrible. My DD graduated from Okemos HS in 1999.
  • Geez. That's crazy. We've been lucky so far. I know a few people who have had it, but I'm actually shocked that I haven't gotten it yet. I typically get every communicable disease that's out there. I even got hand, foot and mouth disease a couple of years ago and I've lost count of the times I've gotten pink eye.
  • Woo!  My sister graduated from OHS in 2000, I did in 2003.  And I agree.  Lansing Mall scares me.
  • It's pretty crazy stuff here, but like I said - you just have to treat it like any other flu because that is what it is. I can put any germophobe to shame right now and I should have stock in clorox wipes and spray.  What is really frustrating is there are errands I want to run and I'm not that sick.......and everyone around here has surely been exposed with all the school closings.  But....that would be really selfish and irresponsible so DH will have to be my gopher. Kate - I am on the Lansing board now and then when someone is looking for a vendor recommendation or something like that.  3 of our 4 girls were married in the Lansing area so I've talked to my fair share of vendors around here.  DD #3 was married at the MSU Chapel last May.
  • Hey cew, when ya leaving for your mini get-away?  What is your favorite D&B-type game?  I love skeeball.
  • I'm so excited. We are leaving today around 1:00. The Notre Dame game starts at 3:30, so we have to get there and be settled into our hotel room by then. I've actually never been to D&B, so I don't know what games they have other than skeeball, but that one is my favorite when we go to Chuck E Cheese.
  • I went on the worst date of my life at D&B.  Not with FI, though, luckily.  The guy looked at the tv the whole time, answered his phone in the middle of dinner, and had barely anything to say.  WINNER!
  • I'm hoping this won't suck. We are going with another couple, but I don't know the girl at all. I don't really feel like being bubbly and sweet to the new girl, so I'll probably just get really drunk, which won't be pretty.
