cautiously optimistic

Husband had his second interview with Texas Roadhouse yesterday afternoon. It went really well, they liked what they saw, but there won't an opening in the kitchen for a month. So the light at the end of the tunnel might not be an oncoming freight train.

  • GL mr. bellam!
  • Sara, is your H a chef?
  • This is good news.  Good luck, Mr. Bellam.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Kate, yes he is a chef. I'm kind of hoping he gets into a management slot, but at this point we are hoping for anything.
  • That's awesome.  FI is as well, though he is currently going back to school.  He is from Texas, so I send his Texan vibes for the Roadhouse :)
  • What is he going back to school for, Kate?
  • He already had an Associates in culinary arts, and is now working on his Bachelors.  He was a sous chef for several years before this, but didn't think he'd have as much luck "working his way up" as his mentors said he would, so he decided to go back.  Always interesting, this field is!
  • Good for him! Technically, my husband is a sous chef, but has worked at a bunch of different places (and bunch of different style places, if that makes sense), so the main thing he's lacking is baking experience. So he's got a batch of French bread dough that I coached him through rising right now. Yummy, fresh-baked bread with dinner tonight.
  • My FI is the same way - he hates baking, but I love it.  I think I'm rubbing off on him though.  Well I'm off, talk to everyone later!
  • Yep, me too. Off to spend just a little bit at Michaels.
  • yum, now I want steak
