    Oh, I've got an interesting one.... DH (then BF) got my parents to try fried turkey last year.  They bought a turkey fryer and asked J if he'd do the turkey for Thanksgiving.He and my dad bonded over a turkey fryer and doing that. J didn't watch football, and my dad just didn't know what he was going to talk about with him (they'd only met once before), but they did okay.
