The River Cafe flooded - need other option for 2 at 12/12/12

Dear Knotties,

we have a reservation on The River Cafe, Brooklyn for our private wedding on 12/12/12.

Hurricane Sandy flooded the restaurant and they dont know when they can reopen after renovation.

We have a private wedding, only 2 - and we search a option for 12/12/12 with a very nice view and romantic restaurant at Manhatten, Brooklyn or near there.

Any Ideas?

Many thanks and best regards

  • You need a reservation for 2 people, in December, is that right?

  • Hi Jrkubr,

yes, we are searching a nice location with excellent food for our personal wedding dinner. We getting married without family or friends, its a destination wedding.

We have had a reservation at "The River Cafe" but it is destroyed from hurricane sandy and they dont know when they can reopen.

Now we are searching a nice location - perhaps with a nice view - and great food who was not hit from sandy.
  • There are lots of places. It won't, in any way, be problem. It's only a question of how to narrow it down. What exactly are you looking for? Type of food/price/area/type of atmosphere/type of view. There are 100s of great restaurants all in a nice location, with a nice view, great food, that aren't damaged. Did you choose The River Cafe, for instance, because it's in Brooklyn? Or for some other reason? Have you looked at restaurant reviews on Zagat's, UrbanSpoon, TripAdvisor, nymag.com, Yelp.com and etc?? Do you want to see water, be up high, or is the atmosphere/service/food more important than the view? The best food doesn't always come with the best view. Describe, specifically, your dream place, and you'll probably get suggestions.
  • We have choice River Cafe because the very nice view at the Manhatten Skyline in the evening and we have read from a lot other couple this would be a wonderful place to have a private dinner. Sure food qualtiy is also important for us. Brooklyn is not a basic, we stay at a Manhatten Midtown Hotel.

We take a look for a lot of the reviews (Zagat, TripAdvisor, Yelp) and looking a lot of photos from the locations before we choice The River Cafe. If we have found it we both instandly in love of it. There are so much restaurants that we now dont know which we should take. Please help us.

Most Important - if it is possible - nice view at the skyline manhatten or over the town with  a landmark and good food (steak, fish or american - no chinese, italian, greek, fast food). It can be high up, see water must not be.

If it doesnt work good food and nice a atmosphere are more important then a nice view. Price is not important - it should be our nicest and best dinner ever.

    Many thanks for your help!
