Food Network show hosts you wanna murder...

Ok, so I watch a lot of FoodTv.  Pat and Gina Neeley make me absolutely homicidal.  You love each other, and you're a married couple.  I get it.  Stop making out in the damn kitchen.  Seems like they get a lot of slobber on their dishes.  And I also feel like Giada's tatas do most of her cooking.  They're all I can look at when I watch her show.

Re: Food Network show hosts you wanna murder...

  • I can't sit through all 30 minutes of Rachael Ray, she is WAY too perky for me.  I would leave FI for Bobby Flay though.
  • Rachel Ray hands down.  If I ever hear EVOO again...

  • Rachel ray is hands down the most annoying person ever created. The constant chatter, her voice, her acronyms, her face. I just hate her.
  • I hate Giada's overpronunciation of Italian words, like "sPA GEE TEE."  We get it, you're Italian. Guy Fieri is an idiot and I hate his stupid sweatbands and pointy hair.

  • Rachel Ray hands down. And Guy Fiori(?) I can't spell. With the hideous bleached spiky hair. I want to kick him, and then have a heart attack from the "food" he cooks.

  • I want to throat punch Sandra whatever her name is. She's too "I wish I were Martha Stewart."
  • Pat and Gina Neeley make me absolutely homicidalAre they the ones that do it in their backyard or something?  If so...AGREED!  I can't stand them.  I remember one episode where her BBQ pit was designed to look like a pig, and she was making drinks out of it.  Um, ooook.
  • Leah, I think Sandra Lee is actually a robot Stepford wife.  Like if you peeled back her face, it would be all machine in there.  And her show is "semi-homemade" cooking.  You are opening cans.  I do not need a television show to tell me how to dump a bunch of processed food in a bowl and mix it up.

  • Everything Brie said, 100%. Sunny (Cooking for Real, I think?) wears on me very quickly too.And I wish, just for once, Ina Garten would use a knife and leave her food processor on the shelf.
  • I really do not like any of them on the food network.  The only shows we will watch are Dinners and Dives and Unwrapped.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I love rachel ray's recipes, but yeah, she's annoying ("Yum-O!").i'm glad to see i'm not the only one that doesnt care fo the Neeley's.  i also dont like Ina Garten or the latino lady... ingrid hoffman.
  • Come to think of it, I hate most of the hosts on Foodnetwork. I really like a lot of their recipes, though, which is why I watch.  Ina is totally my favorite.  She's the least obnoxious to me, anyway.

  • I hate that Alton whateverhisnameis that hosts Good Eats. The show is cheesy, and every other word out of his mouth is "um" and that drives me batty.
  • What?  I love Alton. Alton Brown doesn't whip potatoes. Alton Brown's potatoes whip themselves, if they know what's good for them.

  • Rachael Ray, definitely.

  • I'm jacking my own thread here, but there's a juicy little nugget over on the ChitChat board about having a "secret" wedding now and a "real" wedding later.

  • I love Alton too.

  • Oh wait, I hate Bobby Flay and Guy Fiori too. But not as much as Rachael Ray.

  • I hate RR on the food network, but I like her talk show. I hate Guy Fieri and his backwards sunglasses, and his stupid phrase, "that's money right there". I also don't like Laura from the French Food at home. You have a TV show, liven it up a bit!
  • I love Alton Brown so much that the man I married looks like him. Okay, I didn't actually marry him BECAUSE he looks like Alton Brown, but it helps. Can't stand watching Rachel Ray, but I like her recipes. Sandra Lee makes me want to dismember kittens.
  • Proof: my husband -
  • Did anyone see the Guy Fiori on SNL? It was perfect. He was dumping gravy on a cheeseburger or something.
  • My 2 cents - Barefoot Contessa.  She's early morning Saturday or Sunday and she makes any hangover worse.I LOOOOOVE Paula Dean though - at least she can admit everything is better with butter - YAY for butter!!
  • I'm not crazy about any of them--but I still watch.  I don't mind Tyler Florence or Ina Garten.Sanda Lee scares the sh*t out of me...the rest of the shows I will leave in on and I like some of the recipes, but there is something seriously terrifying about Sandra Lee.

  • I don't watch it a lot but of the few hosts I know I truly dislike Rachel Ray.  Her food doesn't even look good!  It's like crappy soccer-mom-no -time-but-let's-pretend-I-can-cook crap.  There are a lot of dishes that taste (and look) waaaay better than what she's cooking and take the same amount of time.  Seriously.  Gross.

  • I don't understand hating Sandra Lee because she shows semi-homemade recipes. She grew up in poverty, never knowing where her next meal would come from, and so the point of her show is to demonstrate how to make decently healthy and filling meals with cheap (AKA processed/canned/bagged/etc) ingredients. I like her and I <3 Alton Brown!
  • I don't hate Sandra Lee because of the semi-homemade thing...she is just entirely too peppy to be trusted...and she has crazy eyes--like if something doesn't go perfectly with her damn tablescapes, someone is going to die...

  • I've met Anna Olson a few times.  She's a pretty huge biitch.  Her husband is very nice though and a great chef.
