RSVP Help please!

FI and I are having a very small wedding (35 people total, including the two of us and our small wedding party) Our invitations are DIY and sweet but informal, informal wording, and the wedding is at our local VFW. It is insanely tacky to ask guests to RSVP via phone or email, or do I absolutely positively need to do RSVP cards? I am on an invisible budget (ie, NO money) but I don't want to have people think I am being tacky and crude. My parents can't come, and honestly I think they are the only ones who would be offended by a phone/email RSVP. Thoughts?

Re: RSVP Help please!

  • Are you asking if it's tacky to do phone/email?No, I don't think so, and especially with a wedding that small.  However, if you think your guests will be offended, then it's best to go with the traditional cards.

  • No, it's not tacky on a less formal invitation for a small, casual wedding.
  • I don't think it's tacky or crude. I do think it's informal--but you've said your wedding is informal so it's in keeping with the style of the wedding.
  • With a wedding that small I think its fine. T's sister did that and noone minded because it was an intimate wedding
  • Thanks everyone :) I am going to set up an email addy specifically for that, since everyone invited already has our phone numbers it would be a bit redundant to have it on there too.
  • If you're asking them to respond by phone or email, I'd go ahead and include your phone number. Sure, people have it, but it won't take up a lot of space and at least they'll have the info right there in front of them -- making them more inclined to respond!
  • Do it! Some people find when they put phone/email RSVPs on their invitations, they get less responses. So you may have to do some calling to sleuth out if people are really coming, but with 35 people it won't be that time consuming.
