Christmas Card Question?

Hello Ladies, I am a newlywed and getting ready to do my christmas cards (was not sure where to post this but you Knotties have been so helpful I thought I would try here). I want to put a picture from our wedding and write a cute saying or something. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas, or knew someone that did something real cute and clever. Any advice would be great! Thank you, Megan

Re: Christmas Card Question?

  • I was boring and just had a picture of us and said 'Happy Holidays'.  Then I hand wrote a personal note to everyone

  • Uhhh... Holiday Wishes from the Mr and Mrs?

  • If you're going to send a Christmas card, send a Christmas card. A card with a picture from your wedding screams "Look at us!!!! Again!! And BTW, Merry Christmas and Shiit"

  • I agree with brookelyn. I think wedding pics on your christmas card is just a cop-out.
  • That is too funny that yall think that. Because I LOVE Christmas Cards and my favorite ones are the ones when people put a beautiful picture from their wedding. We usually always put pictures of us, so our families all over the US can see how we are and such so my thoughts are if I am gonna put a picture I am going to put on from our wedding. Sorry that yall are so against it! But dont worry it will be Holiday related!

  • Unless you got married on Christmas, I'm failing to understand how a picture from your wedding is holiday related. I get tons of Christmas cards every year, not once have I ever seen someone send a photo from their wedding with "Happy Holidays!!" On it. You are delusional.

  • Huh. I get Christmas cards all the time with wedding pictures on it. I think they're cute.

  • wow you are a bitter person. I was asking a question you stated your opinion now I think it would be best if you did not answer again. Not delusional at all. BAH HUMBUG to you!

  • Yeah, for real. In fact, our Christmas cards last year were a wedding picture.

  • People seem to like my xmas cards with our wedding picture on it.  Some of them cut out the picture and framed it.   Whatever? A cute saying... I do not get that one.  Happy Holidays along with a person note is really all you need.

  • I like it when people send Christmas cards with a picture from the past year in it.  That way, I know what they're up to and can also see a recent picture of them.  I like Fischey's idea about Merry Christmas from the Mr and Mrs.
  • Fish, that surprises me considering your hatred for TTD and B-pics. Just took me by surprise. I'm not bitter, I just don't get it. It's a Christmas card. Personally, I would choose to send a Christmas card and include a separate photo from the wedding. But that's me.

  • And you can't tell me not to answer again. This is a public forum. As long as I stay within the rules outlined in the post above, I can answer how I please.

  • How is that related at all? TTD are extra pictures that you have of yourselves dressing up after your wedding on a day that isn't your wedding.. And I like budoir pics. I think they are empowering. I don't like bridal portrait sessions.Holiday cards to our friends and family with a picture of our wedding for them to have is totally different.

  • Nope. I'm just failing to see the point of Christmas cards with wedding photos. And I'm not taking too kindly to being told it's best that I not post again. Whatever. I seriously didn't realize that this is something that's done on a regular basis. By b-pics I meant bridal session photos, my mistake for the terminology.

  • I do not see any difference between a newly married couple on a christmas card, then a new baby or a family on vacation somewhere.  As long as the picture was taken in the last year what is the big deal. Let's face it all picture xmas cards can be called AW.

  • I personally prefer a nice christmas themed card that is either hand made or has some thought and effort put into it, but thats just me, thats my reasoning.
  • I was not saying dont post. I was saying that I got your point and understand your thoughts and that if you were going to continue to make rude comments maybe it would be best to move on to another post and give your thoughts to someone else. thats all. Post all you want!!   And by cute saying I meant like a play on words or something. Have a "Marry" Christmas or something like that. The card will of course be Holiday related just it will have a picture, it may be of me, my husband our dog etc but this year we were wanting to us a cute snap shot of the two us of that just happens to be on our wedding day! becasue that was a HUGE and wonderful thing that happened to us and our family in 2009 !

  • I kind of agree that Christmas cards with pictures on them are AW-ish. I don't really mind them, but I would rather have a pretty card. What I can't stand are those Christmas newsletters. I don't know why. I just hate them.
  • My parents do a letter.  I use to find it supper annoying.  Especially in 1998 and when they said  "1998 was an exciting year for us.  We had 3 granddaughters born. JK gave birth to a girl on Feb 1, BL gave birth to a girl on Mar 5, KL gave birth to a girl on May 25." It went on and on about my siblings lives and how my parents moved to Texas that year.  Then a small line about me, it said "Lynda quit her job and moved to the islands to play"Yeah, I felt like a loser. Now I do not mind the letters.  It's like reading People.  I really should not care about Celebrities lives, yet I still read the maganize.  Same with the letters.  They are entertainment for me.

  • Linda, I completely agree. I really do like reading what's going on in my friends and families lives (oh and in celebrities lives too, not sure why but I love it!). The cards that people put alot of effort in, with pictures and long notes are great in my opinion!!

  • I was thinking about doing a little Photoshop on my signature pic - decorating the tree - and writing Merry Christmas above the barn. Does the fact that my picture has snow and a red barn in it make it Christmas card worthy? (Sorry to threadjack, megan)
  • Expat - I actually think yours would be a beautiful Christmas card. The picture itself looks very Christmas-y.
  • Oh I think that would be adorable. And your picture is absolutely gorgeous and totally Christmas looking!!!!! Such a great idea. And no worries!!
