Please help us find an affordable photagrapher NYC/Bronx/Westchester County

Hi ladies i am a newbie to this ...im glad i get to chat and get feed back with you guys, this is great!!.. our wedding god willing will be on June 10, 2011..we are right on track i think, we are mailing out our save the dates this month, and we already purchased the invitations..we booked our video guy now we are looking for an affordable photographer please help. any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Save the Dates are mailed out a year before the wedding? That seems kind of early.

    I was really happy with our photographer (Agaton Strom), and found his prices to be good (not sure what you consider "afforadable").  He was really easy to work with and had a great eye on the day of.

    Try Manuel Torres (manueltorresphotography.com) He's in Westchester, we are using him and I found his work to be exquisite and his prices to be perfect

    JadziaDax  - one year is not early for STD's, particularly if you have a lot of OOT guests who will need to make travel plans, and/or if your wedding is on a holiday weekend.  Our was both and so we got our STD's out a year ahead of time.

    To the OP - we used Duet (www.duetwedding.com).  Our photographer was Sam.  You can see my pics in my married bio, link in siggy.  Duet is amazing (Sam has since photographed 4 of my friend's weddings as well) and very reasonably priced.

    I agree one year ealry is not too early, it gives everyone peace of mind plus time to save money if they need to travel. I have friends who are getting married next month and save the date never came ( which is fine) but the invitaton came about 3 weeks ago...It's a destination wedding so...

    Photographer: Awesome man and does great work. Gives you the DVD and all the rights for your photoes and so on

    He is amazing! He has 2 prices one for just him for the whole day and the other for him and his assistant so you and your groom can have pictures of getting ready etc.
    He is located in Boston at the moment but is willing to travel. He has an office in NYC as well... I am getting married in NYC and he is coming for no fee.
    He has shot 4 of my friends weddings and all of them have been amazing. He is very much the "blend in" type bc I never remember him taking photos but there they are;-)

    I agree a year is not too early!!!  We had a DW but when I have to travel to weddings I hate not getting Save the dates to give me enough time to plan. 

    In terms of photography, try www.juliaazcona.com. She's wonderful and very affordable.  We had her do our E pics in nyc and she was amazing.

    I found Astami through a friend who got married last year and she totally delivered for our wedding too! She's very reasonable. Check out her blog www.astami.wordpress.com or e-mail her. I know she recently booked a couple weddingsso you might want to contact her quickly before her rates go up. I loved her and I think she's going to be huge by next year. Doesn't hurt to contact her.
