OTC meds?

Anyone know of any over the counter anxiety meds that they use or have tried? I have a friend whos been in ICU in phoenix for the past 6 weeks, his mom just asked if I knew of any OTC meds for her to take.Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

She should go see a doctor if she is concerned about anxiety.

Eh, T takes prescribed medicine for his anxiety. I've not heard of any good otc ones.

I would recommend to her to go see her doctor for something stronger than OTC if she's dealing with that.

My cousin used to give her cat St. John's Wort and Kava Kava Root because he was anxious and his memory sucked. They make these in people version too.

No offense, but if he's in ICU and is having axiety issues, why can't he ask his doctor to prescribe some for him?  Seems like you should let his doctor deal with this and not intervene.

I didnt think there were many out there but I thought id ask anyways. Shes from California so doesnt have a doctor in phoenix & then had to quit her job in CA so she could be at the hospital so she lost all her insurance. But thanks ladies!

He kept forgetting that he ate, and where his food was. He was old. He'd follow us around with an AWFUL meow, all day long. We would have to show him his food bowl, he'd take one bite, and walk away. He repeated this pattern all day long. The vet actually prescribed the kitty drugs. He had some other issues later and is no longer with us.

Like others have said, she needs to see a doctor and have them prescribed.

If she's with her kid in Phoenix, and the kid is in the hospital, I'd tell her to ask one of his doctors.  Tell them, "Hey, I'm having trouble dealing with all this."  I don't think there would be too much of an issue since they know what's going on and all.

StageManager--I dont think she has. But I think you guys are right and she should get a prescritption for it. So ill have her ask a Dr there. thanks : )
