Thanks, silly FI.

I made beef stew the other night.  We had leftovers for dinner last night, and there was enough left for us to both have lunch today.  I checked last night to make sure there were enough veggies, meat, and potatoes left to make it worth it to save it.I go to get some for lunch today, and FI took all the meat, and most of the potatoes when he took his for lunch at work today.  I'm sure he didn't do it purposely, but I'm left with meatless and almost potato-less stew, and not much to supplement it because we need to go grocery shopping and he forgot to leave me money to do that today.  Ha!What silly things have your FIs done lately?

Re: Thanks, silly FI.

  • Ha are you sure it was your FI and not mine?  He only eats the meat and potatoes out of the stew, I have to get a bowl first otherwise I'm just stuck with carrots and celery.

  • Well that was nice of him! My husband is generally silly, but I cant specifically think of anything right now. Last week he was frustrated and walked out of the bedroom waving his arms over his head going "arrrggh!!" very loudly, but thats more cute than silly.
  • He used my car about two weeks ago on a Sunday night and forgot to turn my lights off, so my battery was dead the next morning when I tried to go to work.  He leaves about an hour before me, so I just called out that day instead of having one of his parents come to help jump my car because I really was not in the mood to deal with either of them.

  • My car has been in the shop since Saturday, and we went to pick it up last night, only to discover it still needed work done. Ugh.  But, FI almost forgot to pick me up for work this morning.
  • I'm betting he did it on purpose, picking what he wanted not realizing that you were wanting to take some too.  Totally something my H would do.

  • When I was running errands, a small thing of pomegranate juice exploded in the fridge. I was grateful to FI for cleaning it all up. Late I walked out the back door, when it was dark, and saw something on the step. I said, "Hey, what's on the step? Garbage to go out?" He said, "No, it's the towel I used to clean up the juice." I said, "Um, which towel did you use?" He said, "One of the bath towels."It was all I could do to not flip out. I mentioned that it was nice he cleaned up, but the good bath towels are for baths, and we have old, ratty towels for things like pomegranate juice. He said, "Oh, yeah, I forgot those existed."It seems so petty. I just like my towels. Good thing the one he used was forest green and non, like, cream colored.

  • My husband also has a habit of either watching movies online or renting them and watching them when I am home, and then telling me about it - whenever I say that I wanted to see it, he tells me he didnt know. Yeah! Because you never asked!! There are so many movies that I havnt seen because he refuses to watch movies twice so he fails to re-rent them for me.
  • j&k - You don't have access to money to go get lunch?  I'll give you my lunch money...
  • I'm betting he did it on purpose, picking what he wanted not realizing that you were wanting to take some too. Totally something my H would do.Yeah probably!  When I said I'm sure he didn't do it purposely, I meant I'm sure he wasn't thinking "Hahahahah now J won't have anything but veggies in her stew for lunch!"MsMery, FI does that too, he always grabs MY towel for some reason!  Like, the other day he spilled a bunch of water on the floor and he grabbed my towel from the bathroom to clean it up.  I was like dude, dishtowels.  We have bar rags for that purpose.

  • Haha, J&K, my H did something like that the other day, only he did it on purpose.  I made homemade chicken pot pie.  He picked out most of the chicken (which was fine with me), most of the crust and left all of the mushrooms.
  • Mr Stack is supposed to go out of town this weekend with some of his friends.  He really wants to go but he feels guilty that I'll be home by myself all weekend, so he keeps acting like he should stay home.  His latest excuse being, the basement utility room needs reorganized.  Seriously?  Just go, I'm looking forward to my quiet weekend with Lil Stack.
  • Haha, no Carrie, I could go get lunch if I wanted to, I'm just too lazy.  I'll find something!  He didn't leave me cash to go get groceries, is what I meant.  I could go and put them on my card but we're trying to avoid that.  But thanks!

  • Haha, Nebb, FI does that too.  He likes to go to the theatre by himself, actually, when I'm gone for one reason or another.  Then I'll say I wanted to see whatever it was he went to see by himself, and he'll say "Oh, well, I'll see it again with you..."  Well that would just be silly.  But at least then he'll see it when it comes out on DVD and we can rent it.

  • FI bought two packets of chicken cutlets at Fresh and Easy.  I opened one to take a couple of pieces for my lunch yesterday and put the other pieces into a plastic container for FI.I came home last night and found the second packet's empty container.  The plastic container in the fridge now had more cutlets in it.  I asked FI why he'd opened the second packet when I'd already opened the first one."I just wanted some of the smaller pieces that were in the other one."*facepalm*
  • Oh Georgia that sucks!  "Thanks for helping, but......"Imp, that is such a guy thing.  Fi will open a new bottle of salad dressing when there is one open in the fridge.  I ask why and he says "that one's old!"  So throw it away?  Don't just leave it in there!

  • Mr Niffy will stack garbage next to the garbage can because he doesn't want to fill it up because then he had to take the trash out more often. So we normally have a pile of empty food containers next to the trash waiting to be thrown into the trash by me- who them takes out the trash. Wow, I just realized how well trained he has me. Dammit!
  • Mr. runnr is really good about leaving used pieces of crumpled paper towels all over the house...and never picking them up. The best is when he leaves one or two in his pants pockets. I LOVE it when my laundry is covered in tiny pieces of paper!
  • My H woke up in the middle of the night on halloween because he had a nightmare that there was a giant spider charging our bed. The funny part: the spider was wearing a poloshirt with the logo of the firm H works for on it! Don't even ask me how a spider is supposed to wear a polo shirt (having 8 legs and all...)
  • I woke up in the middle of the night, monday night, to hear my FI going he he he he he in his sleep. He has no idea why and doesn't remember any dreams. He he he he he
  • Yesterday, while getting ready for work I realize my concealer is missing... frantic search ensues. I figure I lost it so I pick up a new bottle on the way home from work. When I walk in with the shopping bag FH asks me what I bought. I tell him the story.COme to find out silly FH walked into a door and gave himself a bruise on his forehead. Then he raids my makeup drawer for something to hide it with before work. Missing concealer was in his briefcase.
