Jewel-Toned

We are renting out a bnb for our wedding in february. I am heart broken we cant have it in the summer but because we are moving overseas in april, we have no other choice. My original colors were pink orange and yellow but i am thinking i want to go for more jewel tones and a very warm atmosphere. what colors would be best for this and what ideas could i use??? i know i need alot of candles but im not sure about the flowers. i was thinking tulips but i know they dont always come in jeweled tones. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would just stick to your original color scheme.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Peacock feather colors. Gold, emerald green, deep purple, deep blue.

You could use the tulips in that gorgeous dark purple tone they come in.

I think tulips also come in a lovely shade of ruby.

Mmm I love peacock feathers. In moderation of course. And ditto on the purple tulips. Maybe with some dark green foliage or fiddlehead ferns?  No matter what, I think if I were doing jewel tones I would balance everything out with a healthy dose of ivory. Yes. Lots of ivory, that way you can use lots of jewel tones instead of just one or two colors. Apparently I like this idea, sometimes I wish I could get married again just to try different things.

Tulips may be expensive that early in the year.  And, if it's really cold, they may not hold/transport well.  They would certainly be lovely, but you may want to ask your florist if that's a flower they would recommend for February, or if they have an alternative they could suggest.

Ditty squirrly.  We are using tulips, but our wedding is in May.  If I remember correctly, they have a pretty limited growing season and don't hold up as well when you get them outside of that season.  My florist won't work with certain flowers in certain time periods because they just don't hold up well and look nice.

My mom loves tulips, so my dad has tried to do them for Valentine's for her.  Usually unavailable, or super spendy, or dead by the time she gets them home b/c of the cold (Kentucky).  Just talk it over with your florist.

This might not help for specific flowers, but some of this stuff is really pretty if you just want inspiration or help deciding on whether or not you want jewel tones:
