H thinks Xylon is an awesome name, although I suspect that is only because it's so similar to 'Cylon', as in battlestar gallatica. Whatever, though- it's a name. I'm just happy we're moving more into 'names' and less into robot cats. Does your H also have a crazy name gene, jules?

Tide: Gwendolyn is my name.  I used to hate it when I was a kid because it was long and I didn't know anyone else with that name.  I've grown to like it though.

Gwen - my best friend in the whole wide world is named Gwendolyn.  If we have another girl, that will be her name, after her "aunt."  I like it because it stems from Guinevere, as does my name - "Jennifer"

Hmm...I just started looking. I really like samuel, mags. For girls, I like Natalie, Julia, Marta, Ester, and Phoebe. For boys, I like Luke, Vincent, Gus, and Victor.Shiit, none of those sounds right. I don't have a flippin' clue what we're going to name this kid.

Gwendolyn was my guinea pig's name. But I still like it quite a bit!My name is long, too. First name is 8 letters and last name is 9 letters. FI's last name is short, though. And if named my daughter Amelia, I might give her my middle name - Mae. And she'd probably go by Amy.

I'm a lurker and haven't been around in a while, but will gladly AW my kid's name.  We just had Charles Henry a few weeks ago, and he's definitely a "Charlie."   That was pretty much the only boy name we could agree on.If we'd had a girl, she would have been Gretchen Matilda.   We also liked Amelia.

Msmery, my mom's good friend had a dog named Lady Gwendolyn around the time I was born.  She still thought it was an acceptable name for a child.

We love Sidney, and it was my grandfather's name... but given Sydney is also a city in Australia (as is Adelaide), we can't exactly name our children Adelaide and Sidney without looking like giant tossers.

Our girl name was Mary Evelyn, both are family names. I've been in love with the name Xavier since the first time I saw it on my cabbage patch doll's butt. I met someone from Adelaide the other night. She claimed it to be much better than Melbourne. I have no idea if she was right. She seemed like kind of a biitch and we had both been drinking.But Adelaide does make for a much better kid's name than Melbourne. It's very pretty, actually.

Well, Adelaide was named after a woman (Queen Adelaide), thus it would make for a better name! But I must say that Melbourne is a far superior city. It is gorgeous- I would say it's the nicest city in Australia.
