"Mangagement" rings

Re: "Mangagement" rings

  • I am not wearing an engagement ring, and FI is not wearing  a "mangagement ring". We both ask one another to marry us frequently just to reaffirm we do and we never have a ring to do it ;)I am excited that the first time either of us wears a ring on our fourth finger will be when we exchange rings at our ceremony. Sounds like a money grab, and rather silly to me. Then again, I think engagement rings can be quite a money grab.
  • this sounds very hipster to me.
  • The first time I saw the title of this post I thought it said "Management Rings" which have a little different connotation, but actually not really.I think this is a ploy of jewelry stores to sell more jewelry, and also a ploy of insecure women who need to make sure people know her "man" is taken.  I'm find sticking with tradition in this area.

  • Did you hear that on KFI? I heard the same thing this morning...FI actually wanted an "engagement" ring. His rationale? "If you get one, why shouldn't I get one?" Sometimes he's like a woman trapped in a gigantic linebacker's body.

  • I'm way late to this, but yeah, we did the mangagement ring thing. It's sweet and makes it feel like the engagement ring is less about claiming the bride as property (I mean, people don't think that now, but yet we still have the engagement ring).
