    I just meant that the look of a big lock would be tacky to me, so I'd put it at the back to hide it.

    I'm super late to this, but our venue suggested a location kind of behind our sweetheart table, and far from the door for security purposes.  It was also near DH's parents' table, so usually there was someone around and they would have noticed something sketchy.
