Really Pnina Tornai? Really?

On SYTTD, a woman wanted a red dress. She tried on a dress, and Pnina Tornai "just happened to be in the store at the time." According to the saleslady, she was outraged that the dress this girl was trying on was such a blatant rip off of her dress.Umm....it was a white strapless A line with some detail on the bodice and a sweatheart neckline. Just like 75% of the dresses on the market right now. She's completely delusional. She even offered to make one of her dresses in red just so this girl wouldn't buy the other dress.

I saw that episode.  I thought the same thing.Also, why are they always trying to get the bride to go up over her budget?It's like, "I know your budget is $3500, but don't you love this one for $8500, right?

I am so out of touch.  I thought the initials were for So You Think You Can Dance (obviously I didn't look closely) and was wondering why a dancer would be buying a wedding dress.

I remember that one, but don't remember seeing the actual dress in red.Good for the girl that she got a dress she loved in red for 5k, though.I normally don't care for Pnina's dresses, but that one was pretty tame - no sheer!  But the red veil was just WEIRD.

Pninas dresses are fug and like, $20k? Why would anyone want a $15-20k wedding dress? I just can't comprehend that level of insanity. Then again, I only ever see the spoiled rotten child brides buying the hideous $20k dresses on SYTTD. I guess that explains it...

Pnina's dresses are so unbelievably trashy.  That red one was one of few that isn't "stripper-come-bride."I loved when E posted the pic of her SIL in a Pnina, cut down to the navel and up to the crotch.

The only Pnina I liked was that one that Foofy bought.  Where her parents tried to talk them down by like $15K.  lol

Oh god, navy, I thought Foofy's dress was awful.  There was just too much going on.I agree with Money - the red one was definitely atypical Pnina.And as much as I hate her dresses, they do fit the girls that buy them well.

That cat faced looking associate LOVES pushing people above their budget. And it always seems so unnecessary. I'll see super expensive stuff she puts on people and it looks just like dresses I tried on for much less.

I agree that the sheer dresses are ridiculous, but some of her dresess are just drop down gorgeous & classy. My dress is a Pnina Tornai, and I think it was worth every penny. Felt like a dream to wear and I got SO many compliments. It's just that the only ones that get people talking are her more risque dresses.... I guess there is definitely a market for those as well as I've seen quite a few brides in them out there.

And if people really don't want to go over their budget, they can just refuse to try the dress on. I think Kleinfeld's is just so used to brides who are actually willing to pay whatever to have their dream dress. That was the case for me and I ended up buying one almost double of what I had expected to pay, but was 100% happy about it.

Oh yeah, I know she has some really great designs. I just thought she must have fallen out of the Self-Centered Tree and hit every branch on the way down if she thought a strapless white dress was exclusively her design.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome. Someone else on here (karentrouble?) did it as well. It was a workshop with a professional jeweler. We seriously got a lump of metal to start. They gave us a bottle of champagne at the end that we're saving for our honeymoon.

Boston, your dress is beautiful--didn't even know it was Pnina!  I think she should stick to lovely designs like that one, rather than the sheer trashy look.
