Sooo anyone wanna...

Ask me anything?  I'm bored today, can you tell?

Re: Sooo anyone wanna...

  • Most romantic thing your H has ever done for you? When have you been the maddest (is that even a word?) at him? Most embarassing moment ever? Favorite meal? When you're not driving around the candy can, what do you do for work?
  • Why doesn't my husband listen to me when I speak?

  • I'm about 90% cure that DH is getting transferred to Esquimalt in August of next year to do an exchange with the Canadian Navy. Where should we try to rent a house?
  • you said once that you had weight loss surgery. Do you mind saying what procedure it was? It makes me curious.

  • What were you shouting about when your sig pic was taken?
  • Most romantic thing your H has ever done for you?   Cleaned up after me when I had norovirus.  Also he is a wuss when it comes to medical stuff yet he changed my dressings and emptied my drains twice a day after my surgery.  That's love. When have you been the maddest (is that even a word?) at him?   This past week. Most embarassing moment ever?   Ohhhh there have been many.  I'll go with the above mentioned mess that DH cleaned up.  I shart in the bed twice in one night, fun times.Favorite meal?   Thai food for sure,  Tom Ka Gai and Panang curry chicken. When you're not driving around the candy can, what do you do for work?   I'm a RN, night supervisor at a nursing home.
  • Can you come to my house and cook dinner?  I just got back from the store and have everything tao make a basic alfredo past, but tonight I'm just not feeling it.
  • Why doesn't my husband listen to me when I speak? You're probably speaking "woman", try to use more sports and or sex analogies.

  • you said once that you had weight loss surgery. Do you mind saying what procedure it was? It makes me curious. I had a Roux en Y procedure.  It's generally referred to as "gastric bypass".  Essentially about 90 % of my stomach,  entire duodenum, and 100 cm of my small intestine were bypassed.    I was left with a tiny stomach "pouch" that was the size of my surgeon's thumb and that was attached directly to the remaining intestine.
  • How much did you lose?  What were you at your heaviest?
  • What were you shouting about when your sig pic was taken? My son.  We were goofing around, getting "pumped up" for more pictures.  the original uncropped pic is in my bio.
  • I can come cook dinner, but you'd be eating late.   My heaviest was 355 lbs.  I lost 47 pounds before surgery and 127 after surgery.   I have regained a bit but am working on getting back down there.  Ideally I'd like to get to about 170.
  • Colleen congrats on your weight loss. Good luck in getting back to your desired weight.
  • I lost 47 pounds before surgery and 127 after surgery. That's fantastic.  My mum had a gastric bypass years ago, so I know losing the weight isn't as simple as just having the operation and it all slides off.  That's an awesome result.
  • Seriously though AC,  I'd suggest renting in Colwood or Langford.  Esqimalt itself has a few "nice" areas, but is generally the ghetto around here.    Anywhere within Victoria is gonna be crazy expensive.  A lot of navy families live in the "west shore" which includes Colwood and Langford.   Parts of View Royal are nice as well, the newer developed areas at least.  Bear Mountain is gorgous but expensive as all get out.Your best bet really is in my neck of the woods.
  • Thanks pc.  A lot of people look at weight loss surgery as "the easy way out".  I still have to watch what I eat ( moreso than people who haven't had surgery ) and I don't now, but when I was first losing weight I worked out hard, 6 days a week.  Gym, 10k walks, jassercize, auqafiit, swimming laps, you name it and I was doing it.
  • when are you coming to visit me?
  • Is that an invite Jill? I would have loved to have extended my trip to MA and did more east coast adventures.  I was really annoyed becausemy work schedule changed after I had my ticket bought and I didn't even realize until way late that I could have stayed a few days longer, blah. Next summer I have to go to Newfoundland.  I haven't decided yet whether or not I'm driving or flying.  If I drive it could be the most epic road trip / gtg marathon ever, lol.
  • Colleen, I had the same surgery as you - when was your procedure?  Are you able to eat any food, in moderation, or are there some things you can't tolerate?Congratulations on your terrific results!!Mine was in 2004. Best thing I've ever done for myself. Besides getting a divorce. That was another 280 pounds I lost....

Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • My surgery was in 2005.  I can almost eat normally now.  Sweets and greasy stuff still really upset my tummy.
  • When are we hanging out again?

  • I wish I knew fishy.  We don't have another MN trip planned yet, but there will be one for sure.  Or you know, you guys could come here.
  • Ice cream bothers me, and some sweets. I have issues with dense proteins, like chicken breast and steak and pork chops.I probably need to find a surgeon here to do my follow ups, but right now, I'm just getting my yearly blood work done through my primary doctor.  Congratulations again - it is hard work, and it's life-changing, and changes more than just your physical self. Many times, people don't realize that.
