What is your favorite misheard lyric?When I was a kid, I thought there was a line in Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know" that said "the cross-eyed bear that you gave to me." It was really "the cross I bear that you gave to me."

In that Macy Gray song (her first really popular one...I don't remember the name)  she says " My world crumbles when you are not near"  but my sister and I always thought it sounded like "I blow bubbles when you are not there"

One of my friends swears the lyrics to the chorus of "Across the Universe" is "Triangle on a taaaaable." I think it's actually sanskrit or something.

I have two: One was Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" -- I used to think the title like was "werewolves thunder", not "werewolves of London." The other is Bruce Springsteen/Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light" -- I thought the lyrics were "blinded by the light, revved up like a douche, another runner in the night"... turns out it's "deuce", not "douche." Whoops.

Shelly - my friend and I in HS used to sing that as "Who wants tacos?" - We knew it was wrong but I swear that's what it sounds like!

H and I were discussing "Blinded by the Light" just last night! Because we both sang the blinded by the light part, and then paused, waiting for the other to sing the next part. "Wrapped up like a deuce in the middle of the night." is apparently wrong.

The radio show that I listen to was actually talking about this last week, and one of the callers said that instead of "Might as well face it, you're addicted to love", they heard "Might as well face it, you're a d**k with a glove"... made me laugh. Another one was "I believe in milk holes" instead of "I believe in miracles". Nice.

Has anyone ever seen the Yellow Ledbetter parody on Youtube?  It's like the whole song is one giant misheard lyric.  I can't even hear the real words anymore when the song's on the radio, I just hear "Potato wave" and "make me fries" and "I don't want it in a box or a bag."
