Good Luck Dance

Anyone heard of this? We are going over the paperwork our DJ sent us, and right before the Money Dance (already crossed it out!) is the Good Luck Dance. I am wondering if it is also some kind of tacky money giving thing.

  • I've never heard of it either, but it might be what PP suggested, which I have seen before. I also like her suggestion to just do a couples dance though for one song or skip it altogether.

  • At my brother's wedding, the DJ encouraged all couples to get up and dance together.  Each couple represented a year of good luck in their marriage.  So the more people, the better the marriage kinda thing.  It was cute, never had that happen at a wedding before though.
  • I think that it sounds cute.

  • We did an anniversary dance and it went over very very well. Couples that never would have danced with each other otherwise went out and danced. The DJ dismissed couples at less than 6 hours of marriage (us!), less than a year, less than 5 years, less than 10 years, etc. Everyone was applauding the couples that were still up there at 30 and 40 years, it was amazing! My grandparents were the longest married couple, so once they were the only ones dancing, H and I cut in and he danced with my grandma and I danced with my grandpa for about 30 seconds, then I gave her my bouquet. The DJ did ask her to share some advice over the mike. It was really sweet and all the married couples (the women?) loved it because they got to dance.
    I definitely recommend doing that!
