Hi! We plan on having a cocktail reception following the ceremony (same venue, historic house garden in NY) for 30-40 people. Since it will be a group of close friends and family, we want to focus on mingling and interacting versus the over-the-top party atmosphere of a dance floor and booze reception or the stodgy formal dinner. Any recommendations for a budget friendly caterer who will also leave our guests feeling filled if not full?
I've never used a caterer before, I usually do my own cooking. The day being what it is, I don't want the hassle of preparing food the night before, or assigning a family member to do the dirty work. Would the caterer recommend what serving utensils/waiters/other necessary components I need or would I have to lock that down myself? The house staff have promised us a few chairs and tables, space allowing.
