Restaurant in Park Slope?

The Friday evening before my wedding, my fiance and I are sponsoring a Kiddush (the cookies and wine after a shabbat service) at our synagogue.  We invited my immediate family and my fiance's immediate family to attend and we'd like to take them out to dinner in Park Slope before the service. Can anyone recommend a good place that would accomodate about 10 people. We want to go somewhere nice enough that this feels like a special dinner, but not so nice that its formal.

Re: Restaurant in Park Slope?

  • Don't know what type of cuisine you are looking for but here are some suggestions:

Fornino: 5th Ave b/w Carroll St. and Garfield St. Italian

Blue Ribbon Brooklyn: Also on 5th ave. American continental. Don't know the cross streets

Belleville: 5th Avenue and 5th street, I believe. French bistro

Okeanos: 7th Ave and 8th Street. Mediterranean

Thistly Hill Tavern: 7th Ave and 15th Street. Upscale pub with great food!

Other great spots: Al Di La on 5th Avenue (amazing italian food) and Stone Park Cafe on (surprise, surprise) 5th Avenue.

Start with those, then there are a ton of other great ones. I would host a dinner at any of the above.

Good luck and let me know which you choose!
  • Thank you for the suggestions!  I totally forgot there was a fornino in PS now. I love the one in Williamsburg, so I may do that.
  • How about Flatbush Farms or James?
