Vegas Recs

I rarely post on this board and I figured I'd post this here since it gets a lot of traffic. I'm posting this on the pre wedding parties board too.

I'm throwing a bachelorette party in Vegas for my friend that is getting married in March. We already have a hotel, but I have never been to Vegas and have no idea what we should plan while we are there. We'll be there from a Friday to a Sunday and it looks like about 8 people will be attending.

Thanks!

Re: Vegas Recs

  • We saw Mamma Mia when we were there last year at Mandalay Bay -- it was really fun! There are also a lot of free things to do on the strip. We spent a day just walking and going to each of the hotels and looking around.

  • If you want a sort of 'typical' Bachelorette party experience, check out Thunder Down Under.

There are tons of good nightclubs.  I guess it depends what you/your friends like to do.  There's pretty much something for everyone in Vegas.  I wouldn't plan too much out- maybe have some ideas of places you'd like to go, but just see how you feel.

  • I would recommend seeing a Cirque du Soliel show if you haven't been before.  Maybe one evening, have dinner reservations and see the show, and then don't plan the rest.  There is SO much to do in Vegas, you really don't even need a plan.

  • Hopefully she will see this, but you might want to page Sasha. She lives there :)

<div>My friend might actually be interested in something like this. I will probably laugh the whole time. Male strippers are funny to me. </div><div>

  • What hotel are you staying at?

  • Her parents are letting us use their time share - thank god. We are making the reservations in the next couple of days at either The Villas at Polo Towers or Tahiti Village.
  • What does she like to do? There are lots of night clubs. Most require a cover of $10-$20. There are packages you can get where you can get table service, etc, for a special even for more $. Do she like nice restaurants? Cause Vegas has a ton of those, too. I'll be there this weekend. I'm really excited. (I've been before, this is like my 6th time.)

  • I would definitely try and get the Polo Towers- much closer to lots of "stuff".  Tahiti Village is further down the strip and you'd have to cab it everywhere.

Oh, and if you like sushi, I highly recommend Ra at the Fashion Show Mall.  Sooo good.

  • Yeah, stay as close to the strip as you can, or if you're off strip make sure there's a shuttle.

If you want a cheap hotel somewhat off the strip (but with a free shuttle to the strip every 15 minutes) try the Orleans hotel. It's really nice, and the food and drinks are cheaper there than most on-strip places. AND they have a bowling alley!

You gotta have a champagne brunch at the Paris. best. food. ever!

Don't pay to get into night clubs. There are dudes on the street that hand out free vouchers all the time to all the clubs. (for about a 2 buck tip) Sometimes you have to show up somewhat earlier to get in free, but still--better than paying 20 bucks, and you can club-hop.

I've heard good things about forty-deuce--it's a psuedo-burlesque club (no nudity). I'd find it more fun that stripper dudes, but depends on what your friend wants! =)

Avoid the Palms unless you like pretentious douchebags

Voodoo lounge is always a good time, with a rooftop patio overlooking the strip. It's in the Rio

    That's all I got for now! =)

Yay, I'm going to stay there!

I second Forty Deuce, if it's still around. I met the guy who owns it (he's based in LA) and it's NICE.

  • I have stayed at the Polo Towers, it's right behind the Hawaiin Marketplace on the strip, it's a much better location than the Tahiti Village.  On my last trip tp Vegas, we were downtown and we went to the Fire Fly at the Plaza, it used to be the dome, which was kinda crappy, but they really upskaled the place, it's a tapas menu and wow everything we had was awesome,!! The mrtinis awere about 8 bucks though but they are very good signature drinks! That would be a fun place to go with a bunch of girls AND it has a kick butt view of the Fremont streetExperience.
  • I think I heard that Forty Deuce was closed :(
