F/U Receiving Line

Can you do either/or when it comes to receiving line and table visits? I'm definitely doing the former, and wouldn't mind not having to do both. What's proper ettiquette here?

One or the other is fine, as long as you greet/thank all your guests individually at some point.

Either or is fine.  IF you do a line, leave the BP out of it.  It makes the line too long and guests have to wait forever to see you.

What B said.  At my wedding we did do both, but the receiving line was our parents and the two of us.  That's it.
