Guest book

I am making a wedding guest book online using my engagement pictures. On the first page it says this book belongs to. I don't know if I put my full name using my maiden name or my married name along with my fiance's full name.

Re: Guest book

  • If you're not married yet, then use your maiden name.  It's not proper to use your married name until you are married.

  • This book belongs to Your First Name & Groom's First Name?

I hope anyone who signs it would know who you two are without needing last names listed.

  • Is it from a site like Mixbook, Snapfish or Shutterfly?  My experience with those sites is that you can change the format of each page, so if you don't want the page with "this book belongs to" you can change it to another type of page.

As far as the name issue goes, to me, it's ok to use your married name.  The book will presumably be used at the reception, at which point you will be married.  Same as ordering thank you cards with your married monogram - you can order them ahead of the wedding, as long as you don't use them until after the ceremony.  KWIM?
  • I would put "The Smith's" or "David & Lisa".

<div>You can use your married name on things to be used after you are married, even if you are creating them before.</div>

  • Either edit it so that page doesn't show - it's not necessary, or use your first names.  Or, The Smiths, like PP said.

It doesn't really matter in the long run.

But, since it's a wedding guest book, I personally wouldn't use my maiden name.

  • Thanks for all the responses. I decided to just go with our first names.
