Thank you!!!  I have no idea where my post button went and I needed to vent!

So my girlfriend in Miami posted on FB today about finding a beautiful dog roaming the parking lot by the gym and if anyone wanted to rescue him.  I asked about him and got the story.

She got his address by calling about his rabies tag and brought him back to his owner.  The guy refused to take him back!  She could see in the backyard where a 3 foot leash was and an algae infested water bowl.  He chewed off his leash and escaped.

He was flea infested and covered in ticks and has worms.  He was filthy and starving. The guy was a thug who named him mostro...Spanish for monster which is how they treated him.

She took him and got him groomed and fed him and got him a bunch of toys and a new collar.  She lives in a highrise and could not keep him, so she drove him an hour outside the city to a safe haven:(

Is it wrong that I suggested posting his address online so he can get hate mail?  I also told her she needed to report him to authorities.

she definitely needs to report him to the authorities. does she have before pictures of the dog? that would help the authorities a lot.

aww that is so, so sad. I dont understand why some people are so awful. Good for your friend though

Sic PETA on his asss.  Or send his address to the cops/animal control.  That's disgusting that people think they can treat animals like that.

Not sure if she got pics.  She hasn't goten back to me with more details yet.  I think she took him to a shelter she has volunteered at in the past, so I hope it has already been reported.

Kidding. I too am shocked at how people treat animals because I just cannot comprehend it. Good for your friend for rescuing him.

I can't....I already have 5 animals:(  I would provide him a temporary home, but she is on the other side of the country and I am hopeful that between her local circle of friends and the shelter that he will be able to find a good home.  It sounds like his personality was gentle and hopefully there are not any more severe medical problems.

PETA is a scary bunch of people; normally I like to avoid them but, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, so yeah.

I hate people like this. That is part of the reason my grandparents have 8 cats. They live on a busy highway and people just bring cats out there and dump them. Its sad that people are this ignorant and stupid towards their pets.
