Hm, but why would he give her a gift of a raw diamond?  And more importantly, how does this do anything to "prove" that he was selling blood diamonds for the conflict?  I find the aspect of the court issuing a subpeona.  As it said in the article, they don't have the power to enforce it, but it could become a serious PR issue for her.  Though I'm not sure she cares about that.

I remember reading something about her receiving the diamonds as gifts.

Part of Taylor's testimony is that he did not have any rough diamonds in his possession.  If he gave Naomi Campbell a gift  of the rough diamonds (I guess she could have them polished and cut), that indicates that he does/did have rough diamonds, and therefore committed perjury on the stand.  And if he had some diamonds to give her, he probably had others to sell to buy arms for the civil war.

Ah ha.  I see.  And if he's giving away rough diamonds, then he's certainly got more than a couple floating around. 

I'm ashamed that she took them knowing what was going on there.  It's disgusting.

Yeah, I have to say I wasn't a fan before all of this, but now I think she's horrible.

I usually don't watch Oprah because I think she's awful, but I did see an episode within the past year in which she interviewed Naomi.  She asked about "jewelry" given to her by Taylor, but Campbell refused to discuss it, saying she did not want to put her family in jeopardy.  I'm interested to find out what she says if she testifies.
