There was a big plot about destroying the major synogogues in NYC.  There were terrorist maps and notes found as well as weapons and explosives.

They broke up a couple of significant groups though.

There has been stepped up alert since Osama bin Laden was killed

When I was at the mall earlier today I saw saw shirts about killing Bin Laden... while I am happy the SOB is dead, I don't think I would celebrate or buy a shirt in praise of someone's death...

Yes.  This particular group wants to target the Jews primarily.  One of the synogogues threatened is only two blocks from me.  It's one of the higher ones in the area.

The ordinary terrorists target anyone around that's not Muslim & an extreemist

You see it everywhere.  They pulled some explosives out of the Second Avenue subway site that hasn't even been completed.

It's hard to tell how big a step up it is, really.  I've been pretty much housebound since the surgery on 1/19.  After 12 weeks, I can take a cab to church or to get my hair done.  Joe takes me out to dinner most Saturdays so I don't get totally BSC.

After seeing 9/11, it is less but still much more than I see in any other city (Boston and Washigton, D.C.)

Bin Ladens threat plans that were found said they woould attack again and big time attack.

Me?  I dunno.  I survived the first one, or perhaps they just missed me.  I'm certaily not complacent about it.  I have a gas mask

The other cute thing that's happening and anytime we're on a higher alert status, they will pull " TERROR DRILLS"

They get together 2,000 responding units, police, firemen, EMS vehicles, cops even on scoooters & hhorseback and they they alll have to RACE throgh the city ti get to one point where the real emergency test spot really is.  They all get there and check in their tiems.

Just so they know how they will respond if some idiots decide to fly a couple of big azz planes into more buildings

I just wish that they had done this in 1993 wwhen they hit the WTC  the first time


The had EIGHT YEARS to practice more.  That sucks

oot, I was visiting NYC when they did one of those test runs and didn't know what was going on. It scared the shiit out of me. It was the week after that water main blew too, that blew up the city block.

We have been seeing the security stepped up and on again for the past ten years.

These ALERT RESPONSE DRILL the same.

I live on the East River so I can see when things are really stepping up when they bring the coast gaurd ships in with massive cannon type guns attached,
