Addressing envelopes?

OK, so I know this is probably a really stupid question; which I should know the answer to already......but I guess I'm having a senior moment, and can't think straight.

When addressing invitation envelopes what title is used for widowed women? Do you still use Mrs. even though their spouse is deceased?

Yes, still use Mrs.  They were never divorced, so the title still applies.

They should be addressed as whatever they were before their husband's death be that Mrs. or Ms.

I would imagine most widows would prefer Mrs, especially if they are elderly or recently widowed.

Widows absolutely can be called Mrs.  Some prefer Ms., though.  I'm guessing you don't have a ton of widows on your guest list.  I suggest that you either contact them yourself or contact MOG/MOB to find out those individuals' preference.

I'd stick with Mrs. unless you have reason to believe they would have changed their preference.
