iPhone Question

Hey I have an IPhone 3G, and since I don't have an IPod I put a lot of songs on it and now it is super slow. Well I just got an IPod for Christmas, how do I delete the songs off my phone but keep them on Itunes for the IPod?

Re: iPhone Question

  • No you can leave them on your phone (if you want to). I have songs on my iPod and iPhone, I just create different playlists for each that automatically sync when I connect either device.

Well my phone is really slow, so I thought maybe it was the songs but I cannot figure out how to take them off the phone.

  • It could be the music, if music is taking up a lot of space (more than 50% of your available space).  You have to connect your phone to iTunes and then manually delete the playlists through iTunes.

Also, if your phone is suddenly running slow-double tap the "home button" and a bottom row of icons should appear. Press down and hold on each icon to "kill" the app-this frees up a lot of your memory. I have to kill my apps periodically.

Okay, I will try doing both of those. I always forget to "kill" the apps.

  • From my FI-if you have iOS5 all you have to do is swipe across the songs you want to delete and the 'delete' button appears-no hooking up to iTunes necessary.

[QUOTE]I agree about clearing out the apps. I do it every couple of days and it makes a big difference in battery life.

Yeah I need to do that more often!

  • It worked! My phone is a lot faster now, the way it should be.
