Maybe I live under a rock --- but I have Conan on in the background and Kesha just performed Tick Tock?? something or other?

I don't know if the whole outfit, robot dance moves combined with the face makeup and the Britney-esque woah oh oh ohs are just too much or if I combined too many Mike's with my painkillers. Any ideas? Anyone else not impressed, or do I need to not be so stingy about my music selections?

I heard a segment on NPR this morning about this song and the movie Avatar.  They said how they were so overly processed and bascially spewed ideas that have been used many times in the past.

They played a clip of the song and it sounds awful.

Oh, and they said her name has a $ in it?  Ke$ha?  Lame.

tlv - if I hadn't heard the thing on NPR (dork), then I would have been clueless, too.  Not a bad thing, just another overly processed, untalented singer.

Awful--- that's about the word I was looking for. Even worse when she is dancing and huffing and puffing onstage into the mic ----  in a frayed black oversized t shirt with no sleeves that says in bedazzled letters "conan + Ke$ha = BFFS" with the outrageous net tights with gaping holes and weird face painting. Like whats her face does the Poker Face--- Lady Gaga? Ya. nms.

gah roxybabe-- I flip between classic rock, country, or soft rock. Forget all the hip-hop, pop, "cool stuff". The last office I worked in they listened to this radio station that claimed to play "today's hits without the rap" and they played the same 6 songs ALL DAY.  Katy Perry, Jason Mraz, the Uncle Kracker song, and Lady Gaga. I about wanted to stab someone.

I also didn't know who Lady Gaga was until a few months ago. I got made fun of several times when I didn't recognize her on the teletube.

However, ask me Freddie Mercury's death date, and I'm all over it. I think I have an aversion to new music. I am by no means a music connoisseur and have very little culture, I think I just cling to the past too much.

(November 24 1991 btw, I may or may not have written a 20 page paper about him in college)

omg me too. When I was writing that paper, I found a DVD of the Freddy Mercury tribute concert that changed my life though. I mean I'm with you, I would have loved to see him perform, but Annie Lennox and Axel Rose singing Queen songs is pretty awesome. Apparently Extreme did a medley of Queen songs at the concert that didn't make the cut of the DVD, I'm a little upset about that.

Also I think I like to pretend I was born in 1975 instead of 1985, since I know that I wasn't coherent for most of my favorite music in its heyday.

tlv, does it bother the crap out of you she named herself after a queen song?  that reallly grinds my gears.

As for the Kesha song, I thought was a joke song and found it humorous.  If its for real, I'm disappointed.

I honestly thought it was a spoof song too. She sounds JUST LIKE the chick who spoofs a kardashian on SNL. "This is my buuuuuuuuutt."

As far as her looks and performance, Lady Gaga did it first, and she's better at it. Go away.

I heard the same thing! They said the lyrics don't make sense at all - it just *sounds* like a song that would be good. It's not actually a good pop song, just a rip off!
