Getting Dress Cleaned

So it's been 7 months and I still have't had my dress cleaned.  I'm so scared of giving it to some dry cleaners and getting a mess back.  I don't want to preserve it, since I'm altering the dress, I just want it cleaned.  Where did you get your dress cleaned?

    you can still use the places that handle preserving - they will do cleaning only.

    I called my bridal shop for a recommendation, I figured that was the best place to go for advice since they're familiar with the dress. Apparently, they handle cleaning and preservation. Not sure who they send it out to, but I had a great experience with the shop and trust that the dress will be taken care of.
