Who wears a corsage/boutonniere at the wedding?

Who wears a corsage or a boutonniere at the wedding?

The plan is for me and my 4 bridesmaids to have bouquets. My fiance and the groomsmen will have boutonnieres. My mom and dad will have a corsage/boutonniere. I do not have any living grandparents.

Do the ushers typically wear them? What about Mother and Father of the Groom? And his grandparents?

  • We're doing corsages and bouts for all of our parents and grandparents. We don't have ushers, but if we did, I don't think I'd bother with bouts for them...
  • We are doing them for my parents, FI's parents and thats it...our ushers are all girls and we are getting some flowers to match some of the flowers I have to put in thier hair.

  • We had a lot of bouts/corsages, probably too many compared to what others may think is appropriate.  This included groomsmen, ushers, both sets of parents, grandparents, godparents, and 2 aunts.

I don't think there is really a rule of thumb for this.

  • I am giving bouts to my brothers, who will escort my mom to her seat. (They aren't ushers, just seating my mom.) And we are giving one to the reader at our wedding as well.  And that is in addition to all parents and GM.

  • All parents and grandparents should get bouts/corsages. We are also doing them for ushers, as well as our reader, simply because I think it's a nice touch.

  • also - if you have a young ring bearer, you may want to buy him two.  If pictures are before hand he made shread the thing before you get to the actual ceremony
