Escort Cards

Does each guest get their own escort card?  or is it one per couple?  If one per couple do you put unmarried couples on the same card? or seperate cards? and would you list the man or woman first?  Thanks!

I don't think there's a right or wrong.  Sometimes people will have one escort card per guest in order to indicate each person's meal choice or give each person a favor (if the favors are the escort cards).  All of the events I've been to have been one per couple. 

We will be having one escort card per couple--our escort cards will be jars of jam, but they are easily shared in a couple so we are not having one per person.  I think we'll probably list the woman first, although we haven't done the escort cards yet.

I was going to do one per couple, but there are some really long names and combinations of names.  It would be easier to do one per person.  Mine don't indicate a meal choice.

We gave each person their own card and we had a bunch of married couples.

I almost always see one per couple. If you're putting couples on one card, yes, do unmarried couples the same way.For unmarried couples, the general rule would be to put the woman first, but I think that's silly. We put the person first who was "really" invited to the wedding and then their guest second, whether that was the man or the woman. If we were friends with both parts of the couple, we put the woman first.

We're doing 1 per couple.

We did one per person, but the card was the way we indicated meal choice to the servers at the venue.  If you don't need to do that, then yes, one per couple is fine.  Unmarried couples can go on the same card, and the woman's name should go first if you're listing separately. (so Jane Smith

let me just say... I hadn't even thought about this.. and now I'm so glad I read these boards! haha
My decision now: 1 per couple. People like to be coupled up so no one will be offended if they are on the same piece of paper (or jar )
