Funny or misheard lyrics: holiday music edition

I love Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," but when she sings:
"Later we'll have some pumpkin pie, and we'll do some caroling," I hear...
"Later we'll have some fuckin' pie, and we'll so some caroling."

My sis hears it too, and we giggle every time. Listen here (it's at around 0:24):

Anyone have any other misheard or funny holiday music lyrics?

  • Glad to know I'm not the only one! I just can't hear it any other way, and it's funny because she sounds like she really doesn't want that pie.

  • This has nothing to do with misheard lyrics, but is hilarious all the same: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hkqsK-oZ1jV1lVW5m_EHRaKjAFZwD9COK38O0

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Not that I can think of, however whenever I hear the first line of "Oh, Holy Night" the next line that pops into my head is "Struck gold at MIT?"  (it's from Rent, if you don't know).  So I've had that song stuck in my head for days and days and days now.

That has nothing to do with your post.  But I don't care!
  • Betrothed, that's too funny. I wonder what Simon has to say, because I didn't see a quote from him. He's probably like, what the fuuck do I care? I'm rich, biatch! *honk honk*

J&K, any mention of RENT is always okay, regardless of the post. And now I <3 you even more. :) I freaking love that show.

  • I'm willing to bet he will say he doesn't care, but I think it has to be a huge blow to his pride.

  • My best friend just saw Rent with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal.  Holy jealous.

I can imagine, given that he takes quite the stand against what he considers crappy music. Now others have placed him in the same boat.

Ooh, I'm jealous too! Their revival came to Boston a year ago and I didn't go. I didn't realize they were still touring. I've seen the show twice, but both times it was the touring company in CO, so no one original or well-known. Still fantastic though. :)

  • Yeah, both times I saw it it was no one big either.  But it was still awesome.  Except for the time I saw it in Minneapolis, I was disappointed with Mimi, which is sad because she's my favorite.  But oh well.
  • Yeah, I saw a sucky Mimi too! I wonder if we caught the same tour. I was surprised that they would cast someone as Mimi who couldn't perform "Out Tonight" without becoming out of breath and off-key. Not that I could ever do that myself, but I've seen people who can.

  • Our Mimi was a mumbler.  If I didn't know the entire soundtrack by heart I never would have known what she was singing.  And she didn't do the slides up on "out" in the chorus.
  • What, no slides?! That's RENT sacrilege. Boo, fake Mimi, boooo.
