:eyeroll:

An acquaintance on FB is getting married tonight, and already has changed her status to "married." She also changed her FB name two days ago and posted about being Mrs. Whatsername. Did I miss something that made it not lame to do this? Like, get married and enjoy, and do the FB reporting thing after RL events.

This is also the same chick who has been posting status updates about her wedding a couple times a day, then "liking" her own status, then being the first to comment on it. Then she'd delete the status and rewrite it so it would appear back at the top of the home page. Yikes. Mr. Whatsername is a lucky guy.

Get ready because I'm sure she'll let you know about HM bedroom status' while they happen. ...:::shudder:::....
• Exactly MrsB. Stackeye, thanks for reminding me not to login to FB for the next few days... ew.

• I will point out I changed my name on FB before the wedding and it showed up before the wedding that my name had changed. In my defense, I was told by numerous people I knew who had gotten married that it took a couple of days for their name to change on FB so I figured if I did it early it would go into affect in time. They were wrong and I looked like a jackass. So there :P
• Nebb, I understand the name change delay on FB, so that on its own is not a lame thing. But I'm also going out on a limb and assuming you didn't do all the other weird stuff this chick has done.

• Answering your own FB status is like answering your own questions when you talk to yourself...........

I know right? Plus it just reeks of desperation. Something tells me she may have bought her wedding dress before meeting her soon-to-be husband too...

• I dont think I changed my marital status until after the fact. I honestly wasnt around my computer much so I dont remember. Im not crazy so that might be why.
• Ewww on the HM part.

• I didn't know it was even possible to "like" your own status on there.

• Who the hell "likes" their own FB status?
• Me neither nebb. I was up late the night before doing last minute packing, so technically it was my wedding day and I posted a status update before I went to bed (but I didn't "like" it!). I figure a wedding keeps you pretty busy so you're not worried about FB status that day, though it was admittedly fun to change it after the fact.

Yeah, the "liking" your own status is weird to me. I've seen a few people do it, and I don't get it. It's like they're trying to get the ball rolling on their own approval?

• Because if it doesn't happen on facebook, it isn't true! (She can't possibly go by her maiden name for a few days when she's MARRIED because that would make her marriage invalid.)

Wait....this is a bad thing? ::makes mental note to stop doing this::
• Yeah FB status updates about wedding stuff in a no go in my book, cause it's ANNOYING! Nobody but the Bride cares if you sent out the invites, tasted cake...I save that AW for TK :)

This must also apply to her RD (pics or it didn't happen), because she has a shitton of pics posted from her RD last night. Maybe it's just me, but the night before my wedding and the day of, I was either getting my hair/makeup done, managing last minute details, or trying to catch a moment of relaxation to myself. I don't know where some people find the time to prioritize this other AW stuff.

Alright, I should stop picking on her now, as it is her wedding day. She's just making it so easy.

• I have a friend who got married and never changed her last name on FB. I swear to you, every single day someone commented on her wall telling her to change her name. She finally posted a status saying "I'm not changing my last name in real life, so I'm definitely not doing it on Facebook, so please stop informing me that I need to." And then she got a billion comments asking ZOMG WHY AREN'T YOU CHANGING YOUR NAME?!?!?!?!?

So maybe your friend is just trying to avoid that?
• J&K, that sucks for your friend. I had an FB friend call me out on me not changing my name on my page too, it was awkward.

I don't know about this one though... it just seems consistent with her all her other AW behaviors. You're a nicer person than I am though! :)

• Oh no, I thought it was weird too. I'm most certainly not nicer than you, I assure you. Perhaps I should have added a winky face to the end of my post!
• Haha, I always imagine you with a winky face. :)

• That's probably a pretty good rule of thumb to follow. If I'm talking, there should probably be a winky face.
• Meh, she's just excited. I don't think it's that big of a deal to change her name now.

I do think it's hilarious when people give a thumbs up to their own status update though. And reposting the same status again so she gets more attention really is lame.
• Man, I haven't even uploaded pics of my vacation in August yet.
