where is everyone?

Re: where is everyone?

  • Muni, that's a good way to say it without sounding presumptious. I'm going to file that one away. FI is the cook of the two of us as well, so I'm kinda hoping he'll do it most nights.

  • I get really annoyed with FI too AATB.  He asks it EVERY day, even on the days that he knows he's cooking.  He's not too creative in figuring out meals.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: where is everyone? : I totally get that.  Except that I tried to give my H one night a week to be responsible for cooking.  Turns out, he really can't cook all that well.  So now it's all back me.  Oh well.  At least we're eating something edible.

Maybe you guys can cook together for a while so that he picks up some skills and then he can cook something edible for you occasionally.

  • i'm usually totally fine with FI asking what's for dinner. I am uber annoyed that by me being sick this week our meals have become completely fast food because he can't organize a meal on his own. I want real food but I'm too tired to make it :( Pity party here.
  • I will totes try greek yogurt for sour cream - even though I LOVE me some sour cream.  Daisy sour cream?  Frick.  I always lick the spoon.  I always use it to make mashed potatoes too, lol.

Seriously though Ben will be like "Are we having leftovers tonight?"  Um, YES.  I just made a freaking pound of pasta, we can eat it again tonight!  And probably tomorrow too.

What? I just got bored and left after page 2. I must go back now.

I wish I could eat a Chipotle chicken burrito bowl with chips and guacamole every day.  I just made myself a BLT with turkey bacon and whole wheat. Yum.

  • Eags, I had never eaten a stuffed pepper until one of my friends made them for me a couple years ago.  Now H asks for them constantly.

  • I actually don't think I've ever had a stuffed pepper. Doesn't sound like something I'd like.

FI wants to go see Snow White and the Huntsman tomorrow... I said I would, but I really don't want to. I read bad reviews, it doesn't look that good to me and I also don't have any money. I know he doesn't either, so that'll probably be the end of that.

[QUOTE]Adamar, they are so good.  I top them with a little cheese while they bake.  I should make them next week.

Whaddya stuff them with? We always do ground beef and mashed potatoes with cheese on top, but I was thinking of ground chicken and couscous as a healthier option ...

I am fine with FI asking whats for dinner. Sometimes though, he'll stand in the kitchen and ask me why I am doing something a certain way and it drives me nuts.  Either offer to help or get out of the kitchen. i think it reminds me a little too much of how my mom would stand over me and critique the way I did things.  Ahh, family baggage.

  • I don't like green peppers so I don't usually like stuffed peppers, but if they're made with a sweet red or yellow pepper they're yummy.

Yeah we always do red peppers because I don't love green peppers either.

This just reminded me that they're on sale for a dollar at my grocery store this week. I feel like they're usually like double that.
    Lizzie
  • A dollar is cheap for peppers.
  • I do ground beef, yellow rice, black beans, cheese, a can of diced tomatoes, and onions.  Topped with more cheese.  I usually end up with too much stuffing so it just gets baked in the dish with the peppers.  I could eat a tub of that stuff.

  • Now I want stuffed peppers for dinner. Maybe I'll go to the store after work.

I really like the new coupon thing Safeway is doing.
  • I've pinned a couple of recipes for stuffed peppers.  One had rice, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella (among other things, I think).

  • I may have to make stuffed peppers sometime this weekend now.

  • Explain the new coupon thing please.

I don't, but I'd eat red peppers raw, so if they still have some crunch to 'em that makes me happy. Might not be a bad idea though.

</div><div>Well, you've got to have a Safeway card. I signed up at my store last time I went shopping, so I'm not sure if you have to sign up at your store or if you can do it online. You go to their website, login, and 'load' coupons to your safeway card. It chooses coupons of things you buy often. For example, next time I go to safeway I get a free thing of large eggs. (Yay!)</div><div>
</div><div>I put a lot of coupons for veggies on my card. It's kind of awesome because it's all electronic. You just click 'add coupon' and it goes to your card. That's it! No clipping!

Omg, my ex would do this.  I would for real almost piss myself in anger when he did it, lol.  Then he'd try and tell me to do it different, then start doing stuff without asking, and then being like "Oh I got this, go relax."  Dude.  I'VE GOT THIS.

  • Hmm, I'm going to have to try not boiling them next time.  That's my least favorite step, so win-win.

  • Interesting Erin... Are they like store coupons/specials, or can you load manufacturing coupons up too?
  • That's when I'd say "if you want it done differently, do it yourself!"
