Green beans suck. Snack ideas?

I like green beans with dinner, but they are really sucking as a snack right now. What do you like for a snack? I need to switch up what I bring to work. Bonus points for healthy snack ideas.

Re: Green beans suck. Snack ideas?

• I've been eating an apple and a sharp cheddar stick for a snack. The Sargento ones are only 60 calories per stick.

• Baby carrots
Craisins and lightly salted peanuts (its like a healthy pbj almost)
Blue Diamond wasabi and soy almonds (to die for)
image
• Apple slices w/ peanut butter.
image
• I love bananas. They usually keep me full (sometimes people say that they make them hungrier). For pre-race snack today I have 100 calorie pack of almonds and a banana.
• sliced cucumber in apple cider vinegar or italian dressing
dill pickle
Almonds (just the plain ones though)
Frozen grapes are good too

My snacks are boring right now, I'm on a high protein diet with very limited options.

Ever try it with Nutella? Now that's a revelation! And if you dont use too much it's not all that bad for you either.

• These are some great ideas. I'm so going to get some nutella to try with apple slices. Matts, bananas are my go-to most afternoons.

Snap peas, greek yogurt, applesauce cup, banana, apple, orange, peach, granola or protein bar, trail mix, honey roasted almonds (NOM NOM NOM) or just plain raw almonds. I've also washed and cut strawberries and brought them to work in a glass lock container to snack on all week, just pop 'em in the work fridge.

I snack constantly. I would totes pass out without snacks.

You know what else is awesome? Coconut chips.

eta - or those small sweet peppers. Nom.

• I love special K crackers. So good.
I also love soaking apple slices in lemon juice and then dehydrating them. Perfect amount of sweet and sour. Also is crunchy like a chip so it satisfies that too.
• Nicole, bananas are just so dang portable and pretty filling!

Anyway, I liked Racher's suggestion of the string cheese, too. I got the light variety and they are a nice little punch of protein. Some people might also combine cheese with apples for a snack. (I'm not one of them.)
• Apples with peanut butter
Peanuts
Cucumber with lemon and chili powder
Carrots( I don't like them raw thought)
Cheese
Cracker
Yogurt, I like to add one slice(?) of those honey and oat bars by nature's valley
• I haven't read the whole thread yet, so forgive me if this has been suggested already...celery with peanut butter. I just had some. Nom nom nom
• Gotta be careful with dehydrated fruit. It's tasty but dehydrating them sucks all their nutrients out and turns them to just pure sugar. Plus if you eat too much of it, it can give you the shits. The more you know :)

TK ate post...yay.

Celery with peanut butter.

Edamame...I buy it in the shells, steam it and sprinkle with kosher salt. Just pop the beans out of the shells...nom nom nom.

Oh, and radish with a little kosher salt.

ETA: oh and cucumber slices with a little salt and pepper.
• Good to know AATB :) E is just a wealth of knowledge! I would have never thought of cucumber with lemon. I've never tried coconut chips, either. I loove cucumbers, but the grocery store was out last time I went.

Oh man you just totally ruined my day :( I thought these were the perfect solution of eating apples and loving them even more. Don't get me wrong, I love apples, but geesh I love dehydrated apples even more

I like to eat a couple stalks after I get back from the gym. Celery has negative calories, and the peanut butter is excellent protein, which is good for you post-workout :)

• It's weird. I HATE celery by itself, but I love it with peanut butter or ranch. And dodgers, I'm the opposite of you. I hate cooked carrots, but like them raw.

LOL! Sorry love!

My favorite dried fruit is pineapple, especially that packaged stuff at the supermarket. But I rarely eat it for this reason.

I love the whole negative calorie thing. Peanut butter is awesome. I had a PB & J for lunch today. With a tall glass of Silk milk. The bread was so fresh, it stuck to the roof of my mouth. I love that!

• Blech. Cooked celery ruins my life. I'm excited to try a bunch of new snacks now!

• if you have access to a fridge with a freezer section, try frozen peas. I like to eat them while still frozen. They melt in your mouth, making them quite refreshing and filling. Great in the summer time. Sounds strange, but try it one day.
