  • Man I love Bellatrix. She's sofucking crazy and they picked such a perfect actress to play her. I guess I love Sirus the best. And Hagrid.

You don't just go with your favourite animal? I figure mine'd be a cheetah.

I don't like Michael Gambon Dumbledore. He's too intense when he doesn't need to be. There are two particular scenes that really bug me.
    1) GOF - After Harry's name comes out, Dumbledore practically accosts Harry with DIDYOUPUTYOURNAMEINTHEGOBLETOFFIRE? Shaking him and everything.
    2) DH - In the tube station, he tells Harry, "Do as I say." Dumbledore would never say that to Harry.

For an animagus, I doubt Wormtail would have chosen to be a rat... and JKR sort of implied in an interview that it might be something you don't get to choose.

And since no one's patronus is exactly the same (again from a JKR interview) the same could be said about choosing an animal.

  • Sirius Black has always been my favorite.  I FLOVE Fred & George though.

When HBP came out I ended up reading the entire thing in the car on the way to PA from SC.  When we stopped at a rest stop somewhere along the way I insisted to my mother that it was NOT Snape (of course she already knew it was him because it was her book I was reading).  She laughed at me when I finished it.

  • I was on the Trust Snape team from the get-go; it drove people bloody crazy but I loved his character and I just couldn't see him as that "all bad, evil wizard" like Voldemort was.

His lines and what he says has nothing to do with the actor. He is just saying what he is told to say.
And I would love to have been a fly on the wall of that set. For all we know, Gambon tried to be all gentle, but the directors have told him to be more aggressive. I mean, if Dumbeldore is supposed to be more gentle, then why have 2 directors let him act anything but gentle?

I don't use my favorite animal. Because I feel like the animagus especially says something more about your personality. I'm not deep enough to self analyze. ;)

  • One thing I picked up on during OOTP but don't know if it was done purposefully was the Marauder's Map.  Messers Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs died in the exact opposite order.

I guess that's true about the directors. But there is just such a monumental personality difference between the Richard Harris and Michael Gambon portrayals.

Well... cheetahs are little... and fast... and have bordering-on-retardedly long legs... and are incapable of putting their claws away... AND they're African. This sounds like me, to a T. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

With any actor change there always is.... just look at the Beckys on Roseanne and the Darrens on Bewitched, lol.
I don't like the way the current DD is portrayed, but I have to giev credit where credit is due... at some point the director should have stepped in and done their job as the director.

  • I wanted to smack Harry upside the head in OOTP. He was WAAY whiny and mad that everyone was cutting him out - never thought it was for his protection - he was very egocentric.
I liked GOF, DH, POA, - oh hell - I liked them all. I rented one of them unabridged on tape to listen to when ex-h and I drove from NC to KC. This was of course, before I realized he was an asshat to the nth degree.
