Re: Saturday night

  • Hanging out with Pete, Repeat, and a friend they brought home for christmas from college.

    Yes, without hesitation.

The best part of the day was hanging out with Pete and Repeat, they both came home from college yesterday from the fall term.  They both have 5 weeks off.
  • Hello.

    1. Trying to decorate our tree. Our stand won't tighten around it enough so it is a little wobbly.
2.Of course you should open the wine.
    3. Picking out our tree was the best part of my day!

  • 1) Watching Home Alone 2.
    2) YES, so I am not the only one. =)
    3) Waking up next to H and realizing I only had to go to work for about 1 hour.

    Hi Ladies!
  • Hi Nola!!!  How is my favorite knottie baby lawyer?

  • Good evening!

    Answers:
    1. Not much. H is watching football.

    2. Yes you should. I heard a great quote this week, "Alcohol adds elegance to everything." I was drinking at the time and found this very funny and true. It was from a cooking show.

    3. I finished all my Christmas shopping today and it was the first day of my winter break from work.

    How about you?
  • Andy, Pete is my daughter (not her real name) and Repeat is my son...they were born 14 months apart, and are still very close to each other even though they are now in college.  we have always called them Pete and Repeat.  Kinda silly, I know....

What was the best part of your day?

And did you open the wine yet?
  • Edmund is loving our tree! Here it is so far with just lights. I don't want to put any ornaments on it until we can get it fully secure.

C, do tell what does E think of the tree.  He is getting so big!

ETA:  I am very slow, glad he loves it.

  • 1 - working til 11 tonight.  Only 2 more hours to go.  Then home to bed.

2 - You bet.  Open it up.

3 - I talked to H for about 30 minutes this morning and then texted with him for another 30 minutes after we got off the phone.  He thinks he'll be done working around Tuesday if they don't have any problems, but won't know until Monday or Tuesday if he'll get a few days off (so I'll get to see him, whether he comes home or I go there is yet to be decided) or if they'll send him directly to somewhere else to work through the holiday.

I volunteered to cover 2nd shift tonight.  It's as quiet as I remember, but now my desk is in an office right off the shop floor with a window, so I get to sit in the quiet office instead of in the middle of the shop floor.  I watched a movie (Love Actually - it was kind of cute and kind of awful at the same time) and read my kindle and made a few laps around the shop floor.  Easy $$.
  • 1. Watching America's Most Wanted. Yes, I am an old lady.
    2. Yes, you should. I might too. ;)
    3. Eating pizza and watching Pretty Woman.

  • I know... The last 2 have been 9 days so they're getting longer, but that's still REALLY on the short side.  I'm afraid to stop taking the B6 though cause I'm afraid they'll get shorter without it.

HI ANDY!!  I miss your face :).  TK has been too wonky lately.
  • Andy! I love my job and I love helping my clients, but I really wish the hours were more normal. =/

    How are you!?
  • I know I miss you too!  I have been lurking and waiting for everything to be back to normal around here again.

After 60 days I'm on to cycle 4!

  • (1) What are you up to?
We're catching up on the past few episodes of New Girl, then heading to bed. We spent the past couple hours shoveling dirt and making berms, or whatever the fvck H called them. I'll be sore tomorrow, but it was a good arm workout!

    (2) should I open up a bottle of wine?
I don't like wine, so usually my answer is no.
    (3) what was the best part of your day?
Hanging out with H. He was fishing at a pond and I went with him, re-reading Mockingjay. It was nice to just hang out, peaceful.

Tomorrow, we go to my grandma's for Christmas. It's my dad's side of the family (although we spend Christmas Eve at my dad's as well).
  • Andy, they go to the same college, but my daughter is doing her clinical portion of her studies, so she is at a hospital about 40 miles from the college.  Video games sounds are coming from the family room, and my daughter is on her laptop on the other couch in the living room next to me.  Best part of my day, week, month.  Love having them home under my roof!

Loopy, very cool, keeping my fingers crossed that you get to see your H.  Good of you to cover the second shift!

    C, your tree looks nice.

  • Hi NOLA!  There was another nola here today for a moment and I was almost confused.  You are capital NOLA though so obviously more important :).

Did you start naturally Andy, or have to see your doctor?  Silver lining - cycle 4 means you can drink wine for a while.  Are you going to temp again this cycle?
  • Very nice tree C!

    What is repeat studying ski?

  • Hello!

    1. Playing on the computer while FI watches football.

    2. Wine is always the right choice.

    3. As I went through the day I kept forgetting I don't have to work next week. Each time I remembered it was like a nice surprise. I also got to see my friends' newborn for a minutes today.

  • Hi everyone!

I am sitting at my mom & dad's watching one of those pawn shows with my dad.  Mom has been in and out of the hospital the last 10 days or so, so I came home Thursday night to give my dad a hand with some cooking and cleaning.  I am going home tomorrow, but coming back Thursday night for the holiday.  It looks like I'll be making Christmas dinner (which is fine by me).

Best part of my day was sleeping until 10:30 this morning.  About 10:00 last night mom was in a LOT of pain so we took her to the ER (second time she's been there twice now since being released Monday afternoon).  We got home around 2:00 this morning, so we were all pretty exhausted.  My poor dad had to be at church at 8 AM to help tear down the sets from the Live Nativity that was put on the last 2 nights.

  • Second shift is better than third Ski.  I worked a LOT of 3rd shift weekends this year.  About half of them probably.  While working day shift during the week.  It was kind of brutal.
  • Stlrz - I hear ya on the sleeping in.  I got up at 7 and fed the dog and let her out, then went back to bed until about 10.  Then I stayed in bed and read until about noon.  It was delightful.
I'm meeting my college roommate for dinner tomorrow night.  She's in town from Tampa through New Years Eve so I'm excited to see her :)
  • Sesh, I am so jealous of your peaceful hang out. H and I use to go nature walking every weekend. He always wanted to go fishing at a pond. Now he works every weekend. I miss being outdoors just relaxing with him on the weekends.

I made the provera appt for wednesday and started spotting...then got the real deal on Thursday.  My doctor still made me come in.  He checked my thyroid and said it was all good....and then offered to write me a script for clomid.  I still want to keep trying naturally for a bit longer.  I'm going to temp this cycle and drink for the REST OF THIS YEAR.
