Money Dance. Tacky or Fun?

All the Weddings I've been to have had a money dance and it's usally a lot of fun.  But now my future mother-in-law is telling me it's tacky and my finance is on the fence about it. What to do?

  • Personally, I don't see a big deal about the dollar dance as it gives you a chance to mingle or talk longer with those you wouldn't otherwise get a chance to. Lets face it-as a bride and groom you will only be able to chat for so long with each person before moving on to the next.  That being said, our venue doesn't allow shots except for during the dollar dance, which made me wonder....how many people will actually dance with us and how many will be heading for the open bar? LOL....
I think it really goes with the crowd your inviting...if they seem like they would make it fun and entertaining, then go for it...but if not, skip it!
  • Every single wedding I have ever been to has had a dollar dance. In fact I think if we skipped it, our own relatives would probably start one anyway! Don't let other people's hangups control your day. If you want one, do it!
