Stomach Flu

I have a nasty stomach bug where I've been nauseous and febrile for about 18 hours now.  Anyway, I called my mom about it.  My sister hopped on the phone and said, "Are you pregnant!?!"  Yes.  Yes, little sister.  A stomach flu automatically means I'm pregnant now that I'm married.  I about killed her through the phone.

Re: Stomach Flu

  • Of course it does. Anything that makes you not in normal health automatically makes you preggers now that you're married.
  • A few months before my wedding I was on some pain killers, and was feeling really sick.  I went to my boss to ask if I could go home for the day and when I explained I wasn't feeling well he asked if I was pregnant.  When I said no I got a lecture about how I should make sure to keep it that way because kids are expensive.  Um, thanks, boss :-/

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Anytime one of my friends mentions being tired, sick, headachy, cranky, etc., I say, "maybe you're pregnant."  But then again, they know I'm just kidding to see their reaction and do the same thing to me.  It's also funny to ask FI, "did you just call me fat?!" in response to random things he says...example, "Did you check the mail today?" "Are you saying I'm fat?!"

Don't worry...I would NEVER say that to someone if they told me it bothered them.  I'm not that cruel...:)

LOL.  FI used to get all flustered every time I'd say that and I'd have to assure him that I was just messing with him.  Now he plays along.  He also plays along when I joke about my "other boyfriend."  He even went so far as to have a coworker call and leave a message for me on our answering machine (when we had a land line) pretending to be some guy I'd given my number to.  Then he got all outraged until I pointed out that we a) had caller ID and I could tell it came from his work, and b) I could hear him in the background telling the guy what to say.  We both got a good laugh out of that one.

Night, I hope you feel better soon.  Those stomach viruses are the worst.
