New York-New York City

Honeymoon Advice

Hi, I'm not a local bride but I am planning on coming to NYC for a few days after our wedding. We can't take our "real" honeymoon right away because we have a wedding the following weekend we need to be home for. So we will be in NYC for 3 nights/ 4 days and I was wondering if you ladies could throw me your suggestions on must do things while we are there, great resturants, ect. I know everyone's opinion will be varied but I just want to make our first few days as husband and wife romantic and special. Thanks!

see a show on b'way...go to a nice dinner....go to the museum of natural history.

If you are there in the winter go see the tree at Rock Center...
If it's nice, please visit Central Park!

I would get tickets for the hop on hop off bus it is really nice. I love the MET (Metropolitan museum of art) its very nice and can be romantic. There's all kinds of great things to do here and all kinds of food to eat. If you like history there is a restaurant called France Tavern its where George Washington addressed his officers for the last time or something like that. Visit the Statue of Liberty and the Empire state building, St Patrick Cathedral and also you can tour radio city hall. I hope this help and if you need more ideas you can send me a message.

I ditto the Hop on Hop off bus, I did it when my Dad came to visit (it is a little pricey), but it gets you to ALL the major sights! And the cost would be a lot more for cabs, and you  would not be able to walk/subway to all the places in one day otherwise.

And maybe dinner in Little Italy?

The tour of NBC studios is also a fun thing to do. I highly recommend the Radio City tour, it's interesting and you get to meet a Rockette lol. Another thing to do is go to a taping of Letterman or go to The Today Show.

Congratulations.  I hope you enjoy your time in NYC.  The tourist bus is a great way to hit all of the major sites.  If you are interested in a few local spots I reccomend High Line Park http://www.thehighline.org/. It's a fun walk with a great view.  Also, look for the little ethnic restaurants.  They are fun, different, and much less expensive.  One of our favorites is Malaysia Grill 224 W 104th.  Just take the 1 train to 103rd Street.  Each neighborhood has a different feel.  I hope you enjoy exploring.
