Re: would you do this?

  • I don't know what would go through my mind in such a cIrcumstance. The only (admittedly morbid) reason I could think for it offhand, is that the deceased was a member of their WP, and this would be their only remaining opportunity to have him near them again for the moment of their union. (I realize the deceased wasn't in the room, only still in the building)

But, I'll admit to just being really sad and confused after reading the story. What a horrible tragedy.

  • I don't think I could. FI sent the article to me and I just looked at the page with a blank stare for a minute thinking about it. But I really don't think I could handle that.

  • I don't think I could.  I'd probably be an emotional mess.......I'm a sob type person if you get me started.
  • I honestly have no idea what I would do in those circumstances. How terrible.

Same here... but with me it might be remotely possible.  About 1/3 of my guest list is in the medical field.
There is no way I would be able to handle that though.
  • If people were only injured, I would probably go through with the ceremony.  With someone dying, I don't think I could.

Repeat this to your self: My Wedding Party is made of my family and friends and I should treat them as such.
  • I wonder if their WP member had been pronounced dead at that point? I'd imagine they were in shock in any case, but it certainly doesn't seem like the best of decisions to carry on under such circumstances.
