Is this weird?

Sorry if this is a repeat, I don't know where my earlier post went.

Would it be strange if we put individual rsvp cards in with the invites? So if h w are invited, there would be a card with h's name and one with w's name. That way if people had a guest we'd immediately know their name and it would prevent some of the more distant cousins from thinking the while family is invited we are having an adults only hopefully reception.
But is this weird?

Re: Is this weird?

  • Kind of. I who'd think you put in two cards by accident. I've never seen this done, not saying it isn't though.

I think it would be a waste of paper to have two cards.  You can list their names specifically on the RSVP, or say X number of seats have been reserved.  Be specific in how you address the invitations, and that should hopefully clear up any confusion on who's invited.

  • Yes. You list the names of only those invited on the envelope.

If you're super concerned with people bringing kids then on the RSVP card you do one of the following:

    1)  ____ places have been reserved in your honour

    2) Mrs. Jane Doe ___ accepts ___regrets
Mr. John Doe ___ accepts ___ regrets

Ya, just as LTB and A have said, you can do a couple things.

A:  Mr. Jones           ___ will accept  ___ declines (or whatever wording.
Miss West          ___ will accept  ___ declines

You can fill out their names after you print the cards, or if you are printing them yourself you can do it on the printer.

B:  ___ seat(s) have been reserved in your honour.

         M______________________
         ___ of  ___ will accept
         ___ of  ___ will decline

Then you can fill out the number of seats reserved and fill out the "of" # (and put the names of those invited on the invitation) and they can fill out the rest.

  • We printed our RSVP cards ourselves and personalized each one

For instance, people invited with a guest had a card like this:

    Ms. Jane Doe
    ______ Accepts ________ Declines
    M___________
    ______Accepts ________Declines

Everyone who brought a guest wrote in the name and we had no issues at all with people trying to add on additional guests

This is a great way to do it.

Also, personalized RSVPs can be helpful if there's a meal choice.

  • Yes, that's confusing.

This is what our rsvp cards say:

The favour of a reply is requested
    before ____________

We have reserved __ seat(s) just for you!

    M_____________

    __Attending

    __Regretfully declines

**Also, a helpful hint: Write the guests names inside the rsvp card/on the back, as quite a few don't fill out the cards correctly or list their names. You don't want to play a guessing game as to whose rsvp it is.
