Hi my name is Lynda and I'm.....

carnivore...

I think I'm an addict. I love beef, chicken, turkey, pork, most fish, some shellfish.

I just made big salad with some steak on top.  I had to force myself to eat the veggies first.  If not  I would not have eat only the steak.  I rarely even eat salads unless they have meat.  While I do not eat meat everyday, most days I do have some sort.

I think I need a support group.

Anyone else have an addiction you want to admit to?

  • Hi my name is Lauren and I can't quit stuffing my face with sweets. And it's not even store bought stuff. I make the shiit myself and still complain that I'm getting fat, whist munching on yet another piece of peanut brittle. I cannot stop baking, making candy, and then consuming it.

  • Gummi anything. I will polish off an entire bag in a sitting. I put them away to try and stop myself, and then I compulsively get them back out and finish them.
  • My name is Brooke and I'm addicted to Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses. I'm so ashamed.

  • I have many, but my newest one is a freshly baked baguette with some brie.

I eat this knowing full well what carbs do to my waistline.

If I was living in France that would become my new addiction.

  • I ate practically an entire bowl of grape tomatoes last night.  I guess that's better than chips, although I love those too.

Sorry, lynda, I can't join your support group.  But I will support your support group, lol.

Oh yes, I am the same way.  I only stop eating gummi stuff out of guilt.  It's awful

  • I am Meaghan and I am addicted to freecell. Just when I freed myself of minesweeper. GAH!
  • I also discovered the magically wonderfullness of cooking stuff in goose fat.

We had potatos cooked in it and then they made a pan gravy with it.

This newest ingredient can't be good for me, but does your H have any other suggestions as to how I can incorporate this magic into my life?

  • I'm addicted to cheese. Extra sharp NYstate white cheddar is my current favorite, but I'm not all that picky. I love brie, havarti, Emmental Swiss, Gruyere, parmesan, feta, bleu, pepperjack... as long as it is natural cheese, I pretty much like it.

aMrs, with you living in France I can completely understand your addiction.
  • Hi, my name is Capri and I am addicted to buying books.  In the last 3 days I have purchased no less than 8 books.  It's a sickness.

  • Cupcakes.

I can eat the entire batch in a weekend, and can justify each one in my mind because, "they're small" and "it's only one" each time I cram another one in my mouth.

I also buy too many books. DH says I will have to move into the garage if I buy any more, but I just can't stop!

I'll also add this to my list of addictions.  Chips, salsa and guacamole too.
  • ...and bacon.  Lately, I have been on a bacon kick.  Trying to find the thickest, tastiest bacon out there.  Center cut, thick-sliced, applewood, maple cured... bring it all on.
  • Mine is lame, but I'm addicted to cottage cheese. I eat it twice a day. It makes me feel like an old lady,  but I love it.
  • bbycakes, over here the bacon is no less than 1/4 of an inch thick.

    ditto on bacon.

DH will make us little BLT's.  OMG they are so good.  Basically it's a hollowed out cherry tomato stuffed with a mixure of bacon and mayo, topped with a sprout.  You just pop them in your mouth.  Yum, yum..

  • Gawd, now I need a BLT for lunch. And to move to the VI so I can get quarter inch thick bacon.

That settles it.  We're moving to France.  Really, FI and I have discussed possibly moving there in our "golden years", the 1/4 inch bacon just solidified it. ;)

So is my husband. He does not know there are some on island and I plan to keep it that way.   Now when we go NYC... He goes crazy over them.

Oh, and he plays them on his Grand Theft Auto game...

There is no amount of money that can convince me hollowing out cherry tomatos is a "fun" process!

It's not that bad. You just use the thing to scope melons with.   The final product is so good it's worth it.
