Olive Garden catering

To make up for our sucktastic wedding reception, H and I are planning a big first anniversary party this Memorial Day weekend.  I'm 90% certain we're going to have catering from Olive Garden.

Most of the dishes on their catering menu say they serve 4-6 people.  Have any of you ever used Olive Garden for catering?  I know their restaurant portions tend to run large, but in your experience, how many servings did the catering portions yield?  If it matters, we'll probably be getting Lasagna Classico and Five Cheese Ziti al Forno.  And salad and breadsticks, of course.  Thanks!

  • What happened at your reception?  I don't remember this story.

I didn't know they did catering!  I am intrigued.  I am a sucker for OG.  Now i want it.  Dammit!!!

  • I had Olive Garden catering for my b-party. There were 5 of us and it easily fed all of us, with leftovers to spare. I'd say 4-6 people is a good estimate.

  • I have used them for business functions.  The portions run pretty large and they are delicious!  I would recommend them!

  • Mandy, my H got sick a couple days beforehand and didn't take proper care of himself, and was exhausted, dehydrated, feverish the day of the wedding.  We couldn't do our first dance, etc.  He spent most of the time sitting down, I spent most of my time worrying about him, and we left the reception early.  He collapsed on the bed and we ended up calling the paramedics!

I'm kind of glad you don't remember, because that means I haven't whined about it here as much as I thought I had :)
  • No info on OG catering (sounds yum though), but I just wanted to say I think it's great that you'll have a chance to celebrate again on your anniversary...such a bummer that your wedding didn't turn out the way you had hoped.

  • I've used Olive Garden catering several times and for groups from 50 people to 200.

We've had lasagna, salad, bread sticks and people have always loved it. Big servings, prices is very reasonable. Depending on your store/size of your order they may even deliver it or they will have it ready and carry it out to your car.

    I would recommend them.
